"Snaps into a 2" dia. hole"
No it doesn't. I have forstner bits and hole saws, but none that are 1 15/16" diameter, which is the outside diameter of the grommet. Had to build the outside diameter up with painters tape to get a snug fit. This was being installed into the back of a media system console, so it had to be snug or it would fall out.
Somebody at HD needs to learn how to use a ruler.

This is a review of Commercial Electric's #180903 [Black] 2" Furniture Hole Cover.
I build furniture. And when that furniture needs to have access to power, using these access inserts is one way [and the easiest] to go.
I only want to dress up the hole and provide a bit of chafe protection.
[The 2"ers are normally too big, but the 1.5" were out of stock.]
But here are the dimensions you'll need: the clearance hole is a nominal 2.000"; the outer diameter of the insert measures 1.973"; the ribs embossed on the outer surface of the insert brings that to 1.997. So, if you bored a 2" hole [which will be on the strong side of 2"], you're likely to need to wrap tape around the insert for a snug fit. The flange on the insert measures 2.385" diam, so you'd be okay up to a 2.25" diameter hole. The insert apron measures 0.973" deep [probably okay for a 1" thick desk/table top, but you'll need to grind it down for 3/4" stock].
The insert's inner diam is 1.697".
If you snap on the topcap, the wireway passage will be reduced to 0.7"x0.9"; so it'll easily accommodate three 'normal' sized cables. It will stand 0.136" proud of the surface.
I would have preferred an insert having a snug, press-fit size.

Worked well, this got the job done so I am happy. Great for covering holes to pass wires through....
Worked well, this got the job done so I am happy. Great for covering holes to pass wires through. I used this to cover up the wires in the back of a box I was making. I really like that there are 3 sets of points of contact to lock the lid in place. I thought this was a good touch. Once you push down all of the way it will snap into place and you will not have to worry about it coming of. The connection is very snug
