Nice light, pain to install
Decent light for the money, however installation is a pain, and I was just replacing a light fixture on the wall in my basement stairwell. I haven’t tried to dim so I cannot comment on that. For the install you have to pull the wires through like most fixtures, but instead of installing the back plate to the wall then wiring it up and attaching the actual light fixture to the front of it you have to pull the wires through, wire it up and put the front on and screw it together from the backside. If you have some decent slack on you wire you’ll be fine. It’s a rear backwards way to do it. Scratch my wall all up in the process of it.

Good lights for under cabinets. They are bright, I like the 2700k color, not too yellow, but not harsh bluish either. Just right. I replaced 5 thin florescent fixtures of various lengths that were getting too needy. As others say, the wires inside really need to be longer. I ended up using wire from the old fixtures in several of the new lights. There are from 1 - 3 knockouts on back dependant on length. But it was tight using existing wires from wall in every case. Otherwise, it went well, lights look good.

Great light. We installed the 12” light in our kitchen pantry that didn’t have a light before. It was straightforward installation, including a clamp to secure the house wiring to the light fixture before connecting the wires. I wired it to an existing switch but the fixture itself also has a small switch.

I purchased various lengths of this LED to replace existing under cabinet lighting. I agree with other reviews that there is not much room in these lights for the wiring, but I was patient and was able to get them installed. When it came to the switches to control these lights, I wanted to use a switch similar to the one I had used on the old lights. A type like that was not listed in the Seven (7) switches that are recommended (which is listed in the documentation with the lights). I found one that works great. It is Lutron MACL-153M-IV (IV stands for Ivory Color), This is the "Master". I also used Lutron MA-R-IV, which is the Remote companion Dimmer to the Master switch. The lights do not flicker, no problem with dimming at any level. This combination of lights and switches are a good match.

I installed the 9, 18, 24 and 36" units of this product for under cab kitchen lighting. The end run unit was this 36". This unit would not dim with the rest and buzzed continuously. I took it back thinking it was defective and got another one. It did the same thing. Finally, I replaced it with another 24" unit and everything works fine. The dimmer I'm using is one listed as compatible and my wiring is new and tested. I can't understand why it won't work in my situation. I would prefer to have the 36" light since the end run is under a long span of cabinets. Now I feel like I should have gone with the old-school and much less expensive, I might add, fluorescent lights.

I bought five of these LED under cabinet lights of varying lengths to replace the existing fluorescent undercabinet lights. The quality of the fixture is good and the light output is great. A vast improvement over the fluorescent lights I removed. All that being said, trying to connect these to the existing romex and then mounting them was difficult. The fixture is not constructed with a mounting configuration to install and wire the LED driver and light fixture frame separately from the LED lamp assembly, so you have to find a way of temporarily supporting the fixture while you wire it and use the temporary support to hold it against the bottom of the cabinet while you attempt to install a screw through a small hole on each end of the fixture (see photo). I ended up using double sided tape to hold the fixture to the bottom of the cabinet and then installing the screws. Even though installation was a pain, I am pleased with the end result, but I can’t give this product five stars because of the difficulty mounting the fixture.

i purchased all the sizes of this LED Bronze Direct Wire Under Cabinet Light I do not recomment this 36'' in unit for 2 reasons: 1.Seems like the lamp over all is mutch brighter then the smaller ones in apparence and would recommend 2x 18'' to match the rest of the room or vise versa. 2. mine was humming for 6 months and then blew out with a big black blow out mark in the lense, something was never right about the 36'' i got possibly.

I bought three of the different sizes available because my cabinets are different sizes. I purchased the 18", 24" and 36". After installing them with my existing dimmer switch, I dimmed the lights and the 18" and 24" dimmed at a different rate than the 36" one. I looked at the documentation provided on Home Depot website and noticed that my dimmer was not list as a compatible dimmer switch. I found in the documentation several dimmers that were listed as compatible so I went to Home Depot and purchased one of the dimmers listed as compatible. After installing the switch, I had the same behavior as I did with the incompatible dimmer. I called the Home Depot customer service and received exceptional service, I was informed that there is only one dimmer switch that is compatible with these lights and that switch wasn't listed in the documentation. I was offered an eGift Card to cover the purchase price of the dimmer switch and I accepted. I went to Home Depot and picked up the recommended switch. After installing the switch I still had the same behavior. Slightly frustrated, I removed the 36" light and noticed that there wasn't a LED driver mechanism in the product. This terminology is a guess. The 18" and 24" light had one. I don't know if this is by design or an error in manufacturing. I ended up returning the 36" on and purchased two 18" to replace it. Installed and now all my lights dim at the same rate. I had to pay more for the two 18" than the one 36", all my lights dim correctly now and work wonderfully. Just be aware that is possible the 36" might dim differently than the 18" and 24". Again, I don't know if this is a design flaw, a mistake in manufacturing or if it's by design. I've attached a picture of the 18" light, you can see the LED Driver (black bar) that was not in the 36" one. Other than that issue of trial and error, I like the product overall and the way it finally turned out.

Nice addition to the Kitchen but you have to watch out for the sneaky people that work and update the website! I wanted ten (10) of the Commercial Electric Under Counter LED Lights made up of 6-18", 2-12" and 2-9" ones but could not purchase all at one time because of low balance on Gift Card so only purchased three (3) 18" ones that day but saved them in my cart. The very next day I went back to the website and those sneaky people had doubled the price of all three models. Called several days later and between two (2) different Managers they sold me three (3) more of the 18" ones at $14.xx and the other four (4) at 25% off. The photo's only show the installation of four (4) of the 18" ones but the other smaller ones will be installed beside a couple of these.

Nice looking, plenty of good clean light. Installing is another issue. Most difficult part was the tiny mounting screws that needed to go through tiny holes - it got done after having the screws not line up and fall out six or seven times, once behind the oven. I bought three, never got easier. Still worth the effort.

I'm not the kind of person who normally wastes my time with reviews. But these HDX lights are perfect. I have tried, flouescent fixtures, and 2 other brands of LED over the last 10 years. These took a quarter of the time to install as the others (both hard wire and plug in). They illuminate well. The warm color light accents so much better than the stark white. But, the biggest thing I liked is that they were about 30% less expensive than the others I've purchased. It's clearly better than the GE and Lithonia Lighting products I've used.

                  SURPRISINGLY BRIGHT
I finally decided to replace my light in the wall under my glass block panel window for visual and not actual needed light (aesthetic effect). What I have had in there four the last twelve years was a two foot fluorescent tube fixture that I could not put insulation close to and even though heavily sealed from the outside it only had one inch of appearance Fir on the outside and covered inside by a one inch panel of red Oak. Well winters are always hard on cold fluorescent tubes, and the installation and replacement of these tubes was hard on my fancy finish interior woodwork. I wasn't sure if this product is what I was going to use here when I bought it, I thought that if it didn't work here it would be perfect replacement for the other fluorescent just like it under the far kitchen cabinet. As anyone can tell you, even if they are not the shop 8' double tube fluorescent lights, even the small fluorescents will have ballasts that start to make noise or the tubes that blink or ends so bad you may as well be working in the dark. So when I got home knowingly buying a light that need hardwired and not direct plugged, I took out the four small screws in the back, wired a male plug on the end and quickly plugged it in to check how bright it was. It is every bit as bright as the 2' tube and by looking at the energy guide will let me keep the little extra decor I usually leave off working most the time and with the hours the material says it should last, I'm not worried about ever opening this panel up again. So now I'm going to add some insulation because it doesn't get nearly as hot or need as much air and finally be done with it and let the next owner figure out what makes those glass blocks glow? The only negative things I can say is the back panel could be heavier, it's a bit flimsy and they should have arranged it so there were knock outs on the ends, not just on the side for straight shooting.

                  A Brighter Kitchen!
Putting in under cabinet lighting is a great way to brighten your kitchen! There are multiple sizes from 9 to 24 inches to fit most upper cabinets. The LED lighting is very bright and instant on with the toggle switch that is built into the fixture. Installation can either be done by direct wiring into a kitchen electrical circuit or by adding an appropriate plug-in cord to put into an existing outlet. This is a fairly easy install for a DIYer with electrical experience (took me about 30 minutes), otherwise you should have a professional electrician do the work. Under Cabinet Lights will provide great task lighting to make your kitchen brighter!

Very good under cabinet LED task light upgrade
I had been looking to upgrade my 20-year-old florescent under cabinet kitchen lights for a while with LEDs but every time I did the research they were pretty pricey. Came across these on Home Depot's website and decided to go to my local Home Depot and pick up a 24” and 18”. Keep in mind that these are hardwired (direct wire) so you need to either run wiring from a wall switch, through walls, cabinets, etc. or use existing wiring. Insulation is pretty straightforward if you know basic electrical work. The build quality looked decent. They are made in China but then again, regardless of brand, what isn't made in China these days. I don't really see that as an issue. Only time will tell how durable these will be. They came with basic instructions (like I said you should know something about electrical If you're installing yourself) and mounting hardware and wire nuts. The transformation from fluorescent to LED was more dramatic than even I had hoped for. Should have done this years ago. These are about 20% brighter and the lighting is more evenly distributed. Being energy-efficient is a plus as well. All-in-all, a very good upgrade at what I think is a pretty reasonable price. Would deftly recommend these.

                  Good for Price
So far I have purchased the 9 in, 18 in, and 24 in versions of this product for under-cabinet lighting below my upper kitchen cabinets. I have plywood construction cabinets and agree with a previous review that the mounting screws are easy to strip. You may want to drill small pilot holes under the cabinet or use more sturdy screws. I disagree with the review that said the only entrance to this fixture is on the top. There is in fact a knock out plate on the back of this fixture. The 9 inch version is much tighter to wire up inside than the larger lights. I wouldn't recommend for a daisy chain type installation, but for single direct wire, it wasn't too bad. The larger sizes of this product, however, have more room inside where the connections are made. The light that the product produces is good and I would recommend for under cabinet kitchen installation. The picture I have attached is a 18 inch version (left) mounted side by side with a 9 inch version (right).

                    Installation is a Major Pain
The lights work just fine, however, I would probably look for a different manufacturer. The installation process is completely backward. If you don’t have a LOT of slack wire, you will not be successful installing this light fixture.
