I've been replacing fluorescent fixtures in my basement and garage over the last couple of years with newer LED units. The advantage to this fixture is that it comes with hooks and chain and hardware that enables it to be mounted hanging by chains like many shop lights or directly mounted to a ceiling. The disadvantage is that it does not come with a power cord, so if you are replacing a fluorescent fixture that plugged into a receptacle, you either have to wire it with the power cord removed from the old fixture or hardwire it. Neither option is overly challenging but I will mount this fixture directly to the floor joists in the basement ceiling w/o worrying about hanging it with the included chains.. The instructions show that the unit has safety cables attached to each end of the inside of the fixture to hold the LED cover section suspended below the housing while wiring. They are not included. That is not a major problem though because the LED cover section is easily disconnected from the mounting by a quick connect fastener. It's easy enough to mount the base of the unit to the ceiling, complete the wiring which is facilitated by easy-connect push-in connectors for the ground, neutral, and hot wires and then reattach the connection for the LED portion and snap that cover back in place. The LED cover removes easily by pressing along the edge at three points marked with embossed arrows and release the cover from the base. These points are found on both of the long edges of the fixture. The light given off is a very bright 4500 lumens of 4000K bright white light and they only consume 45 watts which will save money on your electric bill. These LED fixtures are silent with no buzz or hum and they are unaffected by moisture or cold temperatures found in basements and garages. They can be interconnected for longer strips too.

This is a bright LED lighting fixture. It has the design of a traditional two lamp four foot long fluorescent lighting fixture. The metal body is white in color. It measures 48-1/16 inches long by 4-1/4 inches wide by 2-3/8 inches tall in overall dimensions when I measured it with a tape measure. It has 5 one half inch trade size knock outs - 3 on the top, and 1 on each end. I measured it with the light meter that I have and it measures 2100 lux compared to 1700 lux on a traditional two 40 watt lamp shop fluorescent fixture that I have. This was measured 2 feet away on both fixtures. So this new LED fixture is brighter that my old fluorescent shop light.

This is a very bright LED shop light. It comes with most of what you need for assembly but there are a couple of things you need to get if you're going to mount it. The instructions are pretty clear on what you need depending on your choice of mounting. I did have a little bit of difficulty wiring it. I found the light difficult to open I had a hard time separating the lens cover from the fixture body. There are 3 arrows on each side of the fixture body you need to press in while you pull up on the cover. my hands are too small to span the entire width of the fixture body so every time I opened it at one arrow another arrow would close up. I finally was able to stick a toothpick in the points where I had it open and that kept it open while I opened the other two points.

So I needed to replace a 4 ft old ballast type fixture in our feed room in the barn, So we went ahead and order this fixture. I was somewhat surprised that the bulbs are not replaceable but I installed it today! Very nice construction and the wiring inside is really nice, they give you connector for your wires and it really went in very quickly. I was impressed how easy it was to install. I found it very bright and we are very happy with it. I would buy this again, after turning it on, I am not so worried about the replaceable bulbs. I would recommend this to friend and family.

It is very easy for me to write about and recommend quality lighting fixtures made for and using LED light bulbs. Not only do I like the color of the light it also seems to more clearly define the item or things that you are looking at or working on. Some of the reasons I am sold on LEDs is because of the reduction of electric consumption and heat and it is much cheaper to operate and lasts much longer and thereby is much more cost effective.

Great garage lights. Nice finished look for a garage, Great light color; near daylight! Easy to install if you have some basic electrical knowledge! I bought four lights for my two car garage and I have only mounted three until I decide where I want the fourth. With just the three lights there is plenty of light in the space! Nice and bright!
