Yes, you can mount it to a ceiling. FYI his light fixture has to be wired in not a plug in.
If you look at the installation instructions, the warnings have some mentions of linking fixture. So I would say they are as long as you follow those guidelines.
Try window film tint. Not sure.
Hi Donaldo, dont think this is a problem but mounting fixtures in another light fixture could be causing more heat to be trapped. But you will just have to see what happens if one goes bad replace that fixture. As far as the driver goes is not replaceable and as far as the output voltage I dont know what it is and dont care could be 9v, 12v, 24v, etc all can be different depends on mfr. and fixture and I will not take it apart to see what the voltage is
Hi Donaldo, Installed in a ceiling fixture? That very well can be your problem. and why are 2 fixtures on the same switch and till now only turning on the one fixture? The Driver is like an old florescent ballast, it controls what the LED's are getting in the way of power. Seems to be working fine now I would just leave. But if you wanted to replace fluorescent bulbs why not just use LED Bulbs is easy replacement and are made for that purpose not the way you have done, and would be more costly and fixtures work better I have done that in my shop with a few 10 or so fixtures. But the way the driver is not replaceable except by jury rig then may or may not work correctly.
My first thought would be a bad ballast. that's a pain in the butt to replace on these. It could be a bad termination in either the light or the switch but that would usually present itself right away instead of just happening 18 months later.
HI GK the driver is not replaceable so looks like you may need to buy the whole fixture and jury rig to replace the driver. You could have a heat problem, or voltage problem. No way for me to test but call Commercial Electric and talk to them1-800-527-0313
Yes. It has to have an underwriters certification for insurance indemnity. Whether it is UL or ETL I'm not sure, but it must have one or both of them.
The specifications mention that it is "ENERGY STAR - suitable for damp locations", but this unit is definitely not waterproof or weatherproof.
