Product Overview

The Commercial Electric 5/6 in. Color temperature select LED downlight is an easy way to upgrade your existing can lights to the sleek look of recessed lighting and LED energy efficient technology. These LED downlights are compatible with most dimmer switches and are equipped with a unique color temperature (CCT) changing technology. Now you can select your color temperature depending on your needs or preferences with the flip of a switch located on the back of the downlight. Test different color temperatures before installation and never be dissatisfied with CCT again. Color temperature of these LED downlights ranges from Warm White (2700K) to Daylight (5000K), with three options in between: Soft White (3000K), Neutral White (3500K) and Bright White (4000K). Using only 9-Watts of energy but produce brightness comparable to a 65-Watt incandescent bulb, these LED downlight bulbs are estimated to cost only $1.44 per year to operate. Additionally, these LED downlights are rated to last for 50,000 hours or approximately 34 years. That is 50 times longer than a traditional incandescent BR30 lightbulb, which these downlights are used most commonly to replace. Compatible with most 5 and 6in. recessed housings and equipped with a medium (E26) socket base adapter for easy installation.

Clean looks, easy installation
I recently purchased these to replace regular halogen lighting. These are a all in 1 unit that installs easily in the existing high hat. These use the same base that a regular light bulb would. These have 5 color settings and are dimmable. They have a cleaner look than a light bulb and no gaps. I would recommend.

Awesome easy upgrade for outdated can lights
I replaced 13 incandescent can lights with these and wow, what an improvement. Some tips I read online: 1) make sure you set the desired warmth level on all the lights before installing 2) if they are on a dimmer, set the dimmer to the brightest setting before you cut the power to install the lights I had to switch out the spring brackets for the (included) tension/blade brackets, which was straightforward and worked well for my application. Very satisfying DIY upgrade!!!

Very pleased with this product. I had a 60-Watt...
Very pleased with this product. I had a 60-Watt Incandescent Bulb in a 6-in. Halo recessed fixture that is in a short Hallway in my Basement. The Lamp is controlled by a Residential Motion Sensor with an inactivity shutoff Timer. With the 60-Watt Bulb, it was On or it was Off and the Light was subdued, nit bright. The LED has multiple settings for Light Temperature; I selected (Switch) the most White setting and the whole area is now as bright as an Operating Room. Also, while the Motion Sensor behavior is identical to the Incandescent Bulb, when it turns Off it dorsn’t go completely Off. It emits enough Light to be used as a Nightlight, dim but not off. That’s great in case I have gone into a side Room and the Motion Sensor for the Hallway LED Light has switched Off, I can still see enough to walk around. Installation Instructions assume you know all of the various types of recessed Lamp Fixtures it can fit, but is actually simple. Screw out the Incandescent Bulb. Screw in the end of the Power Connector that is made like a regular 60-Watt Bulb (Edison Socket). Switch the LED to the Color / Temperature of Light you want. Plug the other end of the Power Cable into the LED. Turn it On and if you want a different Color, select it with the Slide Switch. Anither Excellent advantage is that this Light uses 9-Watts of Power vs. the 60-Watt Bulb that it replaced. I can run 6-or-7 if these simultaneously for the same Cost as One 60-Watt Incandescent, and still can match the Color of an Incandescent (which has been a large reason that I didn’t like switching to LEDs). I have since purchased a Case of Recessed Halo Fixtures (Commercial Electric) and plan to install at least Five more of these LEDs, including above the Kitchen Sink to replace an old Flourescent Single-Bulb Fixture. Most common LEDs I’ve bought with the promise of a Long Life haven’t lasted as long as a good quality Incandescent. If these live up to their advertised Warranty then I will be their biggest Fan.

      The easiest upgrade
Can be installed in just a few minutes. The light color can be determined before being completely pushed in. There is a slider button to choose the right color, from cooler to warmer. These are also dimmable, and can be used in wet locations.

Caution - although "wet" rated, do not use outdoors
I bought 4 of these units to use in the eave cans in my sheltered patio in 2018. I thought this would be fine since they are "wet" rated and the installation is very protected from any direct moisture. Evidently, the steel of the trim ring could not hold up to the high humidity of Houston summers. 2 of the 4 showed visible signs of rust after 2 summers. The lights still work great (as they did on day one) and I love the ability to change the color temperature. These would be fine for a location where the average humidity is below 80% (which is NOT outdoors in the south). Caveat Emptor.
