Response to people giving 1 star and complain about not plugging in
I understand where all these bad reviews are coming from. I had the same problem. I even called HomeDepot customer support and they could not tell me anything. They said they would get back to me in 3 days after the fourth of July holiday. (Understandable). The problem is that the instructions do not make it clear that the power cord plugs only into one end of the light because it has an extra ridge in the plug itself. The other end of the light will not accept the ridged plug/connector. The same issue is with the extensions (5ft, 12in, etc). I had to turn my lights around several times to get it just right. There is really nothing wrong with this, except that the instruction are not clear. What does not even help is the picture of the two ends of the extension cord because it shows two ends with the ridges when in reality only one end has the ridge. I have four of these lights and I need one 5 ft extension. I am ordering that now. It would be great if they had a connector/coupler that could join two 5fts together or longer extensions. I am going to add a picture demonstrating the ridge on the plug. I hope it helps.

Good cable, and flexible. You need this particular configuration of connector on lights that have a different diameter for the ground pin compared to the two AC power pins. This includes Smart Electrician brand lights at a competitor's store. Standard T5 fluorescent light linking cables will not work with these lights. So, glad to have these available in-store, even if they are a few dollars more. These are also only 5 feet whereas standard cables are often available in 6 foot lengths. In my garage 5 feet was enough space between lights, and probably corresponds to their correct spacing at 8 feet high mounting. At least, no dim spots are visible between pairs of lights with this cable.

I bought (several of) the following four items: “4 ft. Bright/Cool White Integrated LED Linkable Shop Light Fixture”, “Commercial Electric 5 ft. Linking Cord for 1 Light Strips and Shop light”, “Eti White Linking Cord Connector for LED Linkable Shoplights & Strip Light Fixtures” and “1/2 in. White Plastic Staples For NM Cable (50-Pack)” Commercial Electric and ETI seem to be related to each other. This allowed me to link 3 shop lights together with one 5 foot cord and two 10 foot cords using the Linking Cord connectors to put two 5 foot cords together. Since I didn’t use any (household) extension cords, this will hopefully satisfy any home or building inspectors when it comes time to sell my house. The staples helped neaten up the installation. In theory you could make longer cord lengths in increments of 5 feet (18” increments also available). The power cords can be a struggle to plug into the Shop Lights. Wiggling them around and (gently) using a pair of pliers seems to help.

      Important accessory
The included linking wires were too short to be much use. These made it possible to link lights at longer intervals without needing multiple power cords. More length allowed for vertical and wrapping around beams, etc.

Product gets a 5 star. Finding them located at a store near me, within 100 miles, (Shipping to me or to a local store wasn't even an option) gets a 2 star. The hardest part is finding this cord within 100 miles of my in Southern CA, which seems ridiculous as this is Home Depot's brand. So Be aware if your project requires you to have your Commercial Electric lights spaced more than 12 inches apart as most boxes come with a 12 inch linking cable.

The 5’ link cord made it easy to add extra light in the garage. Wish the 5’ link wasn’t so hard to find.

      Does not fit
Beware, this cord does not fit the CE Strip Lights. It might fit the shop lights, but I cannot verify, as I purchased the Strip Lights, which have a two-hole/prong plug. This connector is for lights that have a three-hole/prong plug. Despite the Strip Lights claiming to be 'linkable', there does not seem to be a link cable sold that will connect them, other than the 5" cord that comes with them. 5" is useless

This cord worked perfectly with my Honeywell wrap around LED shop lights that require M and F plugs. It finished my installation after my order of the lights from Home Depot in the spring failed to supply the connecting cords.
