I often wonder what the criteria is for earning the moniker "commercial" or "professional". This product is of solid, though common design. The quality of the metal is fair. The function is good. The handle is of a comfortable, curved design that I've not seen before, but with the foam coverings it does not bite or slip in your hand. I have no complaint and the price point is fine. It works well for stripping braided or solid wire, for bending the ends of solid wire, and for cutting braided wire of any gauge that it will strip. Cutting thicker solid copper does seem to take the edge off. It seems well-suited to automotive use, and that is why I ordered it.
I will give them kudos for the design and operation of the lock. My previous set did not have this and I've seen this feature executed poorly more often than well. See pictures.

I got this wire stripper/cutter to replace a pair I have used for 40 years and had seen better days. First, this pair is conveniently only 7 inches long, so it is easy to slip it in a pocket when not in use. Second, it is extremely sharp. I had some thin wires I needed to strip and the sheathing just slid right off. I also used it to cut 12 gauge copper wire, and it just snipped right off..These are my go to wire strippers from now on.

I've been installing wiring and fixtures in homes and automotive applications for more than 40 years.
I have a new favorite brand of wire strippers. This Commercial Electric wire stripper trimmer is an impressive tool. Ergonomic they are curved and fit my hand very well. They are very comfortable because of the double insulated handles which have a soft plastic inner coating a tough yet soft outer coating.
The blade and strippers are as sharp as one could expect, easily cutting through extension cord or Romex wiring with ease. The strippers will clear a wire with ease in a single pass without penetrating the copper wire inside when using the appropriate gauged stripper slot.
As with most wire strippers they can strip gauges 20 through 10, are clearly marked with standard AWG gauge increments as well as metric and bolt cutter for 6-32 and 8-32 screws. Also they have looping holes in 3 locations which is helpful since you can often find yourself in an off position when needing to make a wire end loop.
In addition, they have a manual lock to keep them closed when not in use, a heavy duty return spring and 4 tooth jaw tip and a hex cavity behind the jaw that is easily capable of tightening small nuts.
This model doesn't have provision for cutting a 10-32 screw or crimping terminals.
A really great tool at a really great value.

This wire cutter/stripper is defined as 7 inches long. It has a stripper that easily strips multiple gages of wire by size. It also comes with a nice sized cutter for copper wire as well. I didn't have a chance to test it, but it also has a area for threading and cutting bolts also. The wire cutter comes with cushion grips and pliers on the tip end of it as well. This is a good size for most jobs around the house and shed that one would normally run into while working on electrical work. It also has holes in the jaw for looping wire as well plus a lick mechanism for storage.

7 Inch Wire Stripper and Cutter. Designed to strip 6 wire sizes. Can cut wire either through the blades or through one of the holes. Labeling says for copper wire only. Rubberized handles good for comfort but could use some knurling for better grip. Has a clip to hold the strippers in the closed position. Makes it easier to store and covers the stripping blades for safety when handling. The unit is spring loaded to open. For shaping wire, I prefer needle nose pliers but these do work.
Wire Stripper and Cutter
This wire cutter/stripper has comfortable curved handles with a rubberized plastic cover. The stripper blades have clear markings for the wire gauge, and has markings on both sides of the blades. The serrated tip of the pliers can securely hold wires, and the shear-type side cut works well. Its 7 inch size makes it convenient to use, and the locking mechanism securely keeps the jaws closed when you want to carry it safely in your pocket or belt. Using the correct size stripping jaw for wires from 10 to 20 gauge makes it easy to cleanly strip the wires without damaging the copper. I’m happy with these wire strippers.

So this tool is the one I use the most around the ranch. I have had my old one for close to 5 years and it is tired, need to get another wire stripper and cutter. Looked at this Commercial Electric wire stripper and I knew it was what I was looking for. My hands always got tired with my old stripper and did not have long enough handles, this one has it all, comfortable in my hands. Thrilled with this tool, I won't dread doing electrical work now. I put photos of my old tool and this new one so you can see the difference. Great stripper and cutter.
