Q:The 3rd prongs (grounding) seem to be blocked by a plate inside them, and are not easily pushed past. I was able to insert into one slot with significant effort, but that seems dangerous. What am I missing?

        ::MASSIVE FIRE HAZARD::
        After barely a year of using this product, I had a electrical storm come through. This surge protector did not only fail to stop a surge from breaking multiple devices through my house, but all THREE of my surge protectors in different circuits throughout the house caught fire almost burning my house down. HIGHLY DANGEROUS

          Good product it can be used over and over again and so far has been reliable. I would never recommend this product to anyone who needs it. Haven't had any power surges yet but it seems the work for a surge protector
          Works just great. So far no problems with it it seems to be working great

          Gives a nice soft green glow if it’s on. Nicely built. Spacing for the plugs are good. Easy to install if you opt for attaching to the wall or to a fixture.

            I needed a power strip for a new desk to connect all the items used on the desk. This worked great. I screwed it to the bottom of the desk top and everything plugs in. Then the one power strip plug to the wall. Worked great.

            safety hazard
            I have had this power strip indoors for 6 months and last week during those really bad storms, it burned into my carpeting and melted. I had nothing turned on! So scary!!! No idea what happened. The other item plugged into the outlet is fine so its definitely the power strip and not my house. Grounded outlet. Again, really scary. look at the photo (I wish i could add more but can only add one).

              Wow, Where to I begin. This power strip is just awesome. I plugged it in my wall outlet and instantly I can now plug in, Not one, Not two, Not Three, Not Four, Not Five, BUT SIX things into the power strip. And don't even get me started on the surge protection, Talk about piece of mind for your electronics. I could not wait until my new TV stand electric fireplace came in so I could reorganize all my extension cords behind the old TV stand. Bye Bye extension cords, Hello power strip. I plugged my fireplace directly into the wall of one of the outlets and the power strip into the other and BAM! six more outlets. I love the ambient glow I see just barely peeking at me from behind the stand from the red and green indicator lights letting you know first hand you have power and surge protection to everything plugged into this bad boy. To say it bluntly I love this power strip. With it I feel I can take on the world one outlet at a time and rid the earth of cheap extension cords without surge protection forever. Thanks Commercial electric. Another quality product. 5 Stars.

              This Power strip allows me to provide power to a holiday decoration on a timer, a charger, a phone and a humidifier. Since some of the devices have wide plugs I can't use all six, but four works for me. The 8' cord is long enough to reach an outlet behind the sofa and allow hiding the strip behind the end table.

              Does it really work?
              I've purchased this "Defiant Outlet White Outlet Surge 8 Feet Cord, 45 Degree Angle Flat Plug" yesterday, after several days of searching for such a device at several supermarkets and also dedicated hardware stores. I've purchased this device namely for its 8 foot long cord. It was after I pulled the device out of its packaging that a little label zip-tied to the cord became visible. It reads: CAUTION - Do not install this device if there is not at least 10 meters of wire between the electrical outlet and the electrical service panel. This device features an internal protection that will disconnect the surge protective component, but will maintain power to the load - now unprotected. If this situation is undesirable for the application, follow the manufacturer's instructions for replacing the device. Could someone please explain to me what this means? I am a licensed industrial electrician and I have to confess that this nebulous text on a tiny label, which had been hidden inside the packaging until I purchased the device and unpacked it at home, leaves me extremely uneasy. According to my professional experience as an industrial electrician, devices either work, or they don't work. I always try to purchase those that work and expect sellers not to offer devices that don't work. That, in my opinion, includes this "Defiant" gadget, which, according to the little label, might, or might not work, depending on the length of conductors which are hidden in the walls and ceilings and there's no way to measure them. If I, as an electrician, find it difficult to figure out the length of wires inside the walls and ceilings, how do the ordinary people verify, whether this device is suitable for their house or not? Are we expected to remove drywall panels from the walls and measure the length of the wires? I've plugged this potentially dangerous device into the outlet and I'll carefully watch what it does. However, I advice all the potential buyers to be aware that they might be purchasing a device with the word "Surge" in its name, but which, under certain conditions (which are absolutely out of their control), simply disconnect the surge protection, and if there is a power surge, it will simply fry their computer, audio system, game system or whatever is plugged into one of the six outlets. It might be also challenging to follow the manufacturer's instructions for replacing the device (as the little label suggests), because there are no instructions on the packaging and there are no instruction inside either, except this little label, which tells customers that they can actually expect anything.
