Janet, This device will tell you if there is any live wires in a general area, but will not be able to tell you which wire is live.

Pamela, This tester kit will not tell you the exact voltage present, this will only tell you if an outlet is wired correctly with the three prong tester, and if there is voltage present with the Pen-type voltage detector.

Dear Customer, The commercial Electric Non-Contact Voltage tester is has a CAT III 600V Safety Rating and a CAT II 1000V Safety Rating..

Dave, The user manual should have come with the packaging for both items. If not, you can reach out to tech support by calling 1-877-527-0313 if you require assistance on how to use and operate.

Commercial Electric Electrical Tester Kit has two item (Non-Contact AC Voltage Detector with Adjustable Sensitive and GFCI outlet tester) and only Non-Contact AC Voltage Detector with Adjustable Sensitive NCVT-8908R needs the batteries. When you turn on NCVT-8908R and you can always see a symbol of battery. That symbol doesn't mean that the batteries are low.

check the polarity if correct and it still doesn't work replace battery

Press and hold button to turn on. Also you can check the battery connection by attempting to press light function.

Clean the contacts maybe there’s corrosion or dust/dirt there
