Pros/Cons
Pros: easy set with hubspace app, works great with the phone app. Alexa and Google setup was somewhat east. Cons: doesn't always respond to Alexa may have to say the command twice for it to turn on or off the lights. Google was alittle better but not responsive all the time.

Great socket to control LED bulbs remotely
I got this socket to be able to control my lights when I'm away as an alternative to smart bulbs. It's compatible with LED and CFL bulbs, and is controlled using the Hubspace app on your handheld device. The socket screws into a standard bulb socket and works with Alexa and Google. Once I had the app installed on my phone it was super easy to setup too. The app has also been working flawlessly. I definitely recommend this socket, especially if you want the ability to move it around easily.

Smart choice for lighting automation
Commercial Electric Outdoor Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Enabled Screw-Based Lighting Smart Socket Works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This device adds remote control to any E26 lamp socket with some caveats. The base can not be used with incandescent; halogen or tungsten bulbs and LED bulbs must be rated 60 watts or less. There is no mention of fluorescent bulbs. The base must be connected to a WiFi network, 2.4GHz only. The operation temperature range is -22 to 113 degrees Fahrenheit. The base is rated for internal and external operation but might be limited by the temperature range in some extreme temperature regions. You must download and use Hubspace to control the base. It was easy and quick to setup the base. One screwed into a lamp base that is energized the internal indicator will flash orange. Open the Hubspace app and hit the plus sign. You will need to use your phone to scan the QR code on the lamp base. Once scanned the process is quick to locate the device. The name and location of the base can be customized once the device is active. There are scheduling options as well as setup option to control the base though Alexa or Google. The base internal indicator will turn green when the base is on, the indicator will turn red or orange if there is a WiFi error. The base can also be turned on using the button on the base.

Convenient Socket
The Commercial Electric Smart Socket sold by The Home Depot is a good product. It is super easy to set up and install. The Bluetooth WiFi system works great with my Alexa system. It’s so easy to control any light or device by verbal command. In addition, I like the compact size so it is out of site. I would recommend this item to anyone in need of an add on control.

I’m always looking for new technologies that will make my life easier! It’s created to work outside but I’ve used it in my family room in my table lamp. Just knowing I can use it outdoors adds to its value. It’s sleek and modern in appearance but nothing is simple about its features! I’ve played with it and Alexa and Google and I’m excited. I can come home and ask Alexa or Google to turn on my lights! I can turn them on even before I get home. I had so much fun and the installation is as simple as changing a light bulb! App Based Smart Socket Works With Alexa
The socket on this device accepts my old E26 style CFL light bulbs. I set the smart socket up in the window of my workshop to help deter break-ins. This light in combination with my security cameras allows me to scan the farther reaches of my shop. I can control the socket locally with my Alexa modules or remotely via the Hubspace App from my phone. There is also a power button that manually overrides lamp power. Although I didn't need the Bluetooth connection, I noticed that there wasn't explicit pairing directions. The QR code didn't work for me but the app is easy to find and set up for WiFi. So far it has been very reliable.

Indoor/outdoor, power button on socket.
This commercial electeic smart socket is great. I got it because it is indoor or outdoor. I wanted to use it on my front porch but with this and a bulb it is a little big for my fixure. I decided to just use it in my bedroom until I update my outside light. In order to set this up you have to download hubspace. I wish there was one app we could use for all smart devices. I have quite a few smart devices and I had to download like 5 different apps. This was very easy to setup and get working within minutes. It comes with an easy to read and follow user guide / quick start guide. This fits a standard E26 base. This is ELT Listed. The max output is to a 60w LED bulb. I like that this socket has a power button right on it. You are able to turn the light on and off right from the socket as long as this is not set in an enclosure. Their is a 1 year limited warranty from date of purchase. I have it connected to my google and alexa devices. I can not speak to it operating with siri because I do not use apple products. If you are looking for an indoor / outdoor smart socket this is a great one so far. Having a power button on the actual socket is one of my favorite features.

Very cool Smart socket!
Works great! The app is fairly easy to setup. I had no problems. Simply download the app, create an acct. (email address and password only), and follow the prompts in the app for setup. Process complete and bulb on/off control within about 5 mins. There is a manual power button on the side of the socket if/when needed. I still need to set it up with Alexa, but that step should be quick and easy since you just select the device in the Alexa app and allow the control. You can essentially screw this into any standard bulb socket and it will work to control the bulb of your choice (60 watts MAX). LED bulbs [only] are recommended - (standard incandescent bulbs cannot be used). Indoor or outdoor use is fine and it is suitable for wet locations, however directions say that it should not be immersed in water. (Not for your pool or fish tank!).
This smart socket is perfect if you want easy remote control over a light. Very convenient!

Excellent outdoor socket.
This Commercial Electric outdoor socket is excellent for installing light outside where there is an outlet. It saves me from having to install wiring and switch. I have an outside fixture wired with a plug and all I need is this screw based smart socket which I can control with the Hubspace app remotely. Thru the app I can set up a schedule to turn on light automatically. If there is no wireless I can use the button on the socket to turn it off.
