3 Buried wires all the same color. How can i tell which is which at the ends?

You will need tape and a continuity tester or ohmmeter, MAKE SURE THERE IS NO POWER IN THE SYSTEM.You will kill yourself or blow up your meter. This assumes that the wires are not connected. Whenever you mark wires , mark at both ends. After each test make sure you remove any connection you made for the test. 1) In the box with the 2 blue wires, electrically connect them together then check for continuity in the control box across the blue tires. When you find the blue wires that are connected, mark them with tape. 1a) If you need to find which blue wire is which, In the box with the 2 blue wires, connect one end of your 100 foot wire to one of the blue wires. In the control box, check for continuity between your wire and one of the blue wires identified in step 1. Mark this blue wire on both ends. 2) in the control box, connect the last (unmarked) blue wire the white wire. In the new box, check for continuity. Mark the wires that have continuity. At this point all the wires except a white wire should have been identified and marked.

My Flashlight didn't work at all. But the contact testing did work. Did anyone have this issue?

Mine started working after I had tested a few circuits with manual contact. Maybe it's charging from the current?

Can we touch the probe screw driver tip, the live wire and test the presence of AC Voltage?

Yes. But sometimes as non contact does not signal live wire. I do not recommend this item. My old non contact one I lost was much better.

Not really. Any receptacle that has power gets the same signal.

It won't hurt you electrically but is like a small screwdriver so it's kind of sharp.

No. (It's not a continuity tester.)

The package says it can test DC Votage Polarity Check by nothing is mentioned about that in the intructions

It's an AC voltage detector. Polarity relates to direct current (DC) in general. Polarity is irrelevant for this product.

(What's this)
While trying to satisfy the requirements of both a contact and non-contact voltage measuring device, this item accomplishes both, but neither well. The instructions provided are somewhat convoluted and, in some cases, erroneous. This is a simple device that is generally used to quickly verify if circuits are live or not. A label on the tool instructs the user to test on a known live circuit first, yet the instructions give several optional methods of performing “self-tests”, one which is flawed by the variable of grip and skin moisture the other due to the wording of the instructions. The “switch off” self test, where on grabs the exposed tip with one hand and the side contact plate with the other only works if your skin is relatively moist and your grip firm. The other method, with the tool in the “on” (high or low sensitivity) position references “both green lights illuminated”….when there is only one green light. The choice of a green light (LED) as an indicator of voltage present is unfortunate, as the power industry generally considers green indicators to show an open or de-energized state. While the tool can be used in the “non-contact” mode, with the cap in place (covering the exposed conductive tip) the cap is not captive and could be easily misplaced. A white LED “flashlight” is incorporated (which requires the tool be in one of the two “on” modes (H/L). The contact tip is shaped much like a screwdriver, however, since the instructions make no mention of being used in this capacity, one must assume that to do so may damage the housing which secures the tip. As this tool lacks intuitiveness and repeatable response under varying conditions it is certainly not the best solution out there.

(What's this)
This product seems to work okay but the manual is really confusing so it is hard to tell if I’m using it correctly. On the switch there is an O, L & H setting. What do the different settings mean? Maybe off, low and high. Some examples of my confusion from the manual. On page 5 it says: “The red indicator light (B) illuminates indicating the presence of AC voltage.” And then: “Whenever neutral or earth (ground) is disconnected, the red light indicator light (B) will also illuminate…” So if the red light illuminates is it just AC voltage or disconnected neutral or ground? On the bottom of the same page it talks about “Testing AC Voltage using the non-contact method…”, but then it says to “…gently trace the tip (A) of the tester onto the wire.” So if you are touching the wire how is it non-contact? On page 6 it says: “To reduce the sensitivity, place your other hand onto the object you are testing.” Aren’t you testing a wire with AC voltage? Why would you want to place your hand on the wire? On page 7 the instructions say to replace the small watch type batteries you should: “Use a screwdriver to unscrew and remove the battery cover…” What you are actually doing is removing the whole side and the clip comes off too. Also be careful because the two screws are different. I would prefer a AAA battery and an easier way to change it but I suppose they take up more room. It is really inexpensive so I suppose you can’t expect too much.

This was a safety issue and this product does the job. Twice in the last week it told me which wire was the line (hot) wire and both times it was not the wire I initially thought!

Always beeps even on metal surface !
I bought this to check what went wrong on my laundry room lights. Any circuit break or blaster not working. This stupid thing always beeps for lower or high settings even on metal surface screw or me. The O setting always shows red led even when touching metal surface. So what i am buying a metal detector?? Pls stat away from it and HOME DEPOT MUST report it to manufecturer. They might be desiging a metal detetctor than electric tester.
