Q:Can the rope bend to a tight angle?

Answer This Question

A:  You would have a curve as you make the turn with the rope light with these clips.

by|Nov 14, 2022

A:  We do not recommend tight angles, as this poses a risk of damaging wire insulation.

Q:Are these 1/2 clips or 3/8? Looking for something better than the clips that came with it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

      Answer This Question

A:  These are probably closer to 3/8" than 1/2", and are "sorry" substitutions for the original clips. They don't "weather" well and tend to dry out and crack frequently - figure on replacing annually.

          Answer This Question

A:  Not with the nails provided.

          by|Jul 17, 2022

A:  I would not suggest to do that. The screws are soft and the clips themselves get brittle after a few days in a hot environment. I used them underneath wood and after a few days, the clips themselves started breaking.

            by|Jul 11, 2022

A:  I don’t believe they can be on cinder block

A:  Hello, Yes, the clips are made of strong, sturdy plastic.

                  A:  No clips included

                  by|Jun 27, 2022

A:  yes, clips are plastic (cheap), and seldom last a year out in the weather.

The Commercial Electric Rope Light Hanging Accessory Kit with Clips and Screws is an awesome way to hang your rope lights. I could not find my bit to the drill so I screwed in a couple of the clips by hand to let you see what they look like. I really want to use them to put up my rope lights for Christmas. The clips screw down with two screws to make them stay in place and they are open on one side to clip in the lights. Very easy and awesome way to hang the lights.

So they used to sell this in an older version, where the clips were much smaller & the price was cheaper. This newer kit has beefier plastic holders, and bigger packaging, and is more expensive. I haven't tested these outside in the sun for a few years, but my experience with other similar units many years ago is plastic gets eaten up by UV rays if it's not coated after like 3 years. These here? I have no idea.. just be cautious of that if your using them outside. Other than that, they are working great in my patio!

Installation was easy. Each clip comes with its own fastener. See Photo 1. The clips snap onto appropriate diameter rope lights. See Photo 2. The transparent clip material is invisible to the rope light illumination. See Photo 3. So, using these clips makes a much sleeker appearing installation than does using zip ties, 2-hole clamps or similar hardware. I drilled pilot holes for the screws, They are not self-tapping - and are common grade (though corrosion resistant stainless steel). Also, tighten them judiciously against the Lucite-like material of the clips, which can be brittle. Obviously, as indicated by other reviews of this product, these clear clips can be used to attach / suspend cables and cords of the right girth. However unobtrusive these clips are, such conductors outside a raceway may still contrast against the background to which they are attached. Thus the primary and most desirable use of these is to take advantage of their light-transmitting properties. However, one certainly can dedicate his surplus of these clips to other ingenious uses.

The first thing you must know is that this is for rope light, not hanging lights. This will NOT work with any other kind of light wires or even LED strips. I've uploaded a few pictures to show you the size and to give perspective. Each is about the size of a bit, so once up are pretty invisible, which is good. They are hard plastic and I didn't have any break. Screws are what holds them in place. Overall, this basic set is good enough for this project, IMO.

This is a basic kit with 12 kits and 12 screws. You can install the clip.s up to every two feet without sag normally so this kit could ostensibly run 24 feet of lighting. The rope lighting then just snaps in to the clip. You can also use these clips for running cable line if you don't want to run a channel. They don't work that well in drywall as a note. The screws are too small to stay in place. If doing this indoors, you can run the clips every 16" on center in studs but you may need longer screws.

I know these were designed for rope lights but I actually got these to hold the cord from my surge protector to the wall. The adhesive ones aren't strong enough to hold and these are the perfect size for the gauge of wire. I had to use wall anchors for a few that are not included but I have a stash of them so it was no big deal. They are just plastic but these don't cost that much.

I wanted these for a hanging lamp o had gotten quite a while back. They were simple to put up and you can’t even see them unless the light hits it just right.now if only the cord was see through too! Lol! I just got them today and put them up in about 10-15 minutes myself. So much better than the hooks I had been using and having to constantly pull the cord back to tighten it up! Great companion product.

Commercial Electric offers the ROPE LIGHT HANGING ACCESSORY KIT WITH CLIPS AND SCREWS to easily attach your rope lights to your deck or whatever. The clips are flexible enough to insert your rope light into them. You put up the rope light clips with a screw ; it's that simple. The package includes twelve hanging clips and phillips screws needed to install your rope lights. You may need more than one accessory kit if you are hanging a longer rope light.

Commercial Electric Rope Light Accessory Kit ables you to hang rope lighting of any length on any surface indoors or outdoors with a secure stable fit. 12 Clips measure about 2 in. Each Clip includes 2 wood screws. Clear in color make the clips and hardware invisible in the day light or at night time once the rope light is snapped into place. Personally two helpful hints to make the install easier, not thats its difficult. Im right handed and worked from left to right. Placing the clip on the surface with the screw holes to the right side of the clip allowed easier access as attaching to surface. My rope light is attached to lattice, tap in a nail first into the holes beginning with the hole on the end then moving the nail to the hole closer to the clip. I left the nail in place until I screwed in the end, removed the nail and easy to screw in the second next to the clip, then tighten both
