The Color Temperature Select Recessed Lighting Kits are the recessed lights of the future. Not only is each fixture is designed specifically for small spaces where height clearance is limited such as beams or ductwork, you can change the color temperature with a flick of a button. The integrated color changing switch is located on the cable so you can choose between a 2700, 3000, 3500, 4000 or 5000 Kelvin temperature to best suit your needs. 2700 or 3000 Kelvin is perfect for relaxing, 3500 or 4000 Kelvin is the ideal choice for everyday affairs and 5000 Kelvin is great for task lighting in a basement, hallway or work area. Q:I am simply amazed that nowhere in the instructions or description does it state the voltage this kit or lights can be used at. 120v or 277v that's the most basic bit of information you would think that they would provide.

Exactly the lights I needed
These lights are really well-made and installation was super easy. I bought 4 of these to replace 20 year old incandescent floods in our kitchen. After pulling out the old enclosures, these lights hooked up very quickly and popped right into the previous openings....perfect and look amazing.

Lights leave a gap at ceiling
Despite the springs being strong, I'm still having a hard time getting the light to snug up flush to the ceiling. They leave a 1/8" gap which is unsightly. Seems like they should have 4 spring holders instead of 2. Too bad I just bought like $900 worth of these to do a lot of rooms.

Pretty basic installation. Once you figure out the distancing between your lights, make sure you know where ceiling studs are and draw your circles between them. The snaps hold okay and electric is basic too.

These lights are...
... real deal (what did you think I was going to say). I don't typically review items, however, due to the crappy (or insert your own expletive) item Commercial Electric (CE) made 1004732881, I wanted to write a positive review to show I wasn't being biased. These slim lights are the best. CE nailed it!!! Here is what I like:
• The junction box is separate and comes with low voltage whip to plug in to the slim disk. The junction box, while made of possibly the cheapest and thinnest metal I've seen, does the job. It uses a pressure clip to close the box, so be careful not to bend it too much. For my remodel that I demoed ceiling, I drilled a screw through the junction box to keep them on the joist and allow me room to put in insulation. I let the whip hang and plugged in the lights later. For the rooms that I did not take out ceiling, I fished Romex. The junction box fits easily through the 4.25" hole.
• The ability to change the Kelvin lighting color. There is a "convenient" switch on the whip to allow you to adjust. HEY ENGINEERS: see that word "convenient", that matters!!! See review for 1004732881. • Work great with dimmers. Side note: do a search on Home Depot for 4.25" hole saw. Wow!!! Nice selection huh???? Ok, seriously, who doesn't know to have on hand the hole saw size required of a product you sell in your own store!!!??????? Whatever. Another place may have had a set of THREE (3", 4", 4.25") for 2wentE. Same as of ONE hole saw at HD. Point is, you are only going to need to drill a 4.25" hole as many times as you want to put in these AWESOME lights. I can't say enough about how much I like these lights (see the picture). They really are great for homes that you may have access to the electric, but need to tap into it and want to update your home. Ours is a 1940 house. No more knob and tube. I've updated everything slowly. 14/2 Romex is perfect for these little fellas! Cheers!
