AnswerIt depends on the type of fixture you have. f you had a ceramic fixture with a screw-in bulb, it might have been as simple as unscrewing that bulb and and screwing this in. For most other mountings, its just two wires to the ceramic base included in the package.

AnswersThese lights are designed to screw into an old school porcelain or plastic light socket in the same amount of time as screwing in a light bulb. They also have an adapter to install to ceiling box so if there was electrical boxes in the locations you wanted to put these lights they are really easy to install. Also I have not heard of having to get a permit to change a light fixture (unless your state has a law that you need a permit to do any home upgrades).

I have 2 of these mounted under the eaves at the corners of the house and they are doing fine.

AnswersIf it is on a dimmer switch, that could be the cause of it flashing off and on. Home depot carries dimmer switches that can be calibrated to prevent led type bulbs from flashing, one might work for this light. Best to check with an electrician.
Will this work in current pull string outlet?

AnswersIt will work, but you won't be able to use the pull string as the fixture will cover it. If the fixture has a on/off switch you can turn it on and off from the switch. I just screwed it into the bulb socket and use the wall switch.
Does the nickel version of this fixture tarnish or rust?

Purty okay!
If you have a normal house with normal light sockets, or proper wiring, this is such an easy install. Had to modify mine because the builders of my house were a little off, but yeah, super simple and looks good. For the price and the light output, this thing is great. I'll be buying at least 2 more next weekend.

The Commercial Electric Spin Light 11 in. LED Flush Mount Ceiling Light is a good replacement light or initial installation light for any area that needs good, bright light. You have two ways to hook this light up: screw into an existing light bulb socket or easily hard wire using the adapter. The light output of this unit is unquestionably strong and it is very good at illuminating small to very large spaces. I use mine for a storage closet (very tight area) but if this was used in a stairwell or garage it would illuminate the entire area regardless of size. The only drawback is the LED light output has a very cold, 'factory light' feel. The light color is not warm. Picture a shop light output. Design is sleek and fits very close to ceiling. The overall quality of this light is terrific and sturdy. Very good product and well made. Highly recommend.

Could this be any easier? Once installed, this looks as good as any built in fixture of the same type, but with excellent light, no light bulb changes to worry about and it will save electricity as well. I hope it lasts as long as estimated, but just never having to climb a stepstool to change a bulb or clean a glass bowl that bugs seem to love to crawl into before they are fried...is SO WORTH IT! I cannot think of a single downside to this product other than its cost.

The instructions are very poor and the illustration shows a twist on the mount base but the light itself is not designed to twist on. The included mounting bracket and screws are of the cheapest quality. That stuff aside, although I was told it could not be done by the Home Depot staff, I successfully used the light to convert a Hampton Bay Windward III ceiling fan originally equipped with a dual circuline down light to this LED down light and although it was neither quick, nor easy, it looks and functions very well. It required removing the ballast, tedious routing of the wires, obtaining different screws, and going through some difficult gymnastics in installing the final mounting screws. Yes, I am going to keep it and when the current lights burn out in my other bedrooms, if this light is still available, I will probably do the same conversion on them. My end result looks good and appears to be fully functional.

This thing is great! I had a dark bathroom with a recessed fixture that couldn't handle more than a 60 W bulb. I installed one of these next to it, wired up a pigtail from the existing fixture (using a 695601 and a 613947, the lamp holder is included) and WOW! Bright light! Now I can tell what color my socks are in the morning.

I put four of these flushmount lights in my garage to replace bare bulbs. They were easy to install (just screw them in like a light bulb) and very bright. Perfect for a garage. Might be overpowering for a living area, but if you want bright light, they are perfect. I would recommend them for any indoor application where you currently have a bare bulb. They really add a finishing touch to our garage. We use our garage for both traditional car and off-road vehicle storage and a home gym.
