They seem to tolerate the moisture well I really like this product I would recommend these
The black and silver is plastic material.
It’s a “bulb and fixture in one. Screw it into a socket and done. Comes with a socket fixture if you have some other light fixture that this will replace.
They are not designed for canister mount. They are designed for flush mount. There may be a way but you would need a 9” canister which are not standard. I would not recommend these lights for that application.
Light will only works with a switch. No pull chain and no off and on switch on this light
1100 lumens.
I have what I believe is a standard two car garage with low clearance ceilings--probably 7 ft. I installed two of these lights in the center of each bay and they do disperse the light fairly effectively in a wide area. I set them on the 5000k (daylight) option. I don't do a lot of work in the garage but the lighting is at least as good as with a standard LED bulb light that is comparable to the old 100w incandescent. If you are installing multiple lights (more than two), four or more, I would think the lighting would be more than sufficient for most people. When I am working in my garage I typically work under the light. I am in my 70's and still use dollar store reading glasses, hence good lighting is essential for me. If you do a lot of work in your garage, especially if it is more detail work, you may want to consider a different option. Of course if you already have a standard lamp holder fixture in your garage you could purchase one of these lights (I paid $15 each) and screw it into the lamp holder to get a better feel for the lighting produced.
