Hi Karla, CON-TACT Brand Solid Grip shelf liner should work OK under your microwave. This shelf liner is not "heat resistant" and could be affected by heat. However, the heat would need to be extreme as in setting a hot pan on it. We suggest you first test the amount of heat generated under your microwave by using your microwave and then move it and check the heat level of the counter under it. Can it be used to line the bottom of an electric oven to protect it and to keep it clean?
Mike - CON-TACT Black Grip Liner cannot be used to line the bottom of an oven to keep it clean. The Grip liner is not designed for high temperature use. To protect the bottom of the oven, you would need a high temperature silicone baking liner/mat that is designed to tolerate the high temperatures. Absolutely not! It is not designed to withstand the outdoor elements. However, if you do use it outdoors, you will have to tape it down very tight, but it will still wear out much faster than indoors.
How flexible is this? My concern is whether the edges might curl up with weight centered. I plan to use this in my kitchen cabinets below dishes, glasses, pots, cans, etc. and want something that will lay flat.
