Coolaroo Outdoor Shades
Straightforward adjustments and installation. Hoped for three, 12 foot wide units but Coolaroo didn't offer that wide. Went with six, 6 foot units. Covers space, just TWICE the cranking. (Less reps on arms day:)

My patio is screened and I like the look with the shades. Blocks the intensity of the sun. Although they don't cover the entire areas, the fit is close. Much cheaper than custom shades. Had them installed into top post. Also adds privacy.

This is an excellent product that lowered the interior temperature of the livingroom 10-15 degrees! Additionally, it looks great on the house! I would recommend hiring a detail orientated handyman or installer- not because it is difficult to install on your own- but because this was a 10 foot long shade. I was impressed with the shipping box- very sturdy. Happy customer.

This is my fourth coolaroo shade which completes filtering the sun on my patio. In the summer it probably makes my patio at least 5 + degrees cooler with the shades down. I put the shades down far enough just to block where the Sun is going to hit on the patio. The shade comes with Hardware so that you can lock in the ends of the bungee balls so it does not flap in the wind. This was a selling point as it does get windy here so moderate wind is not a problem. If it gets too windy or it's raining I roll the shades up. I've been very happy with the quality and in this case how it was shipped to me in a very rigid tube. Two of the shades are about 3 years now and they look as brand-new as the day as I purchased them. I had to order the last one online as they did not have it in the Home Depot store. Shipping was free and like I mentioned it was very well packed in a huge cardboard tube. My neighbor installed them for me each time and it did not take very long.

Once installed, the shades made an immediate impact. The direct sunshine no longer got to the windows, creating a lot of passive solar heat! Instead, the shades created an oasis out of our covered patio. You could feel a breeze blow through, and enjoy a defiant temperature drop in the shade. Not to mention how attractive they are. You’re able to see out, so the view isn’t completely blocked. The cranks aren’t as great as if these raised and lowered via a powered remote, but aren’t a big deal... Glad we could order them ten feet wide! We needed three to span the patio... very affordable, made well from Sunbrella type fabric that holds up to UV rays, and should last for years.

This product is fabulous! It arrived at Home Depot in a timely manner and was damage-free. My husband put them both up on our new porch in under an hour using a tape measure, level and drill and of course following the directions. One thing we liked was you can mount it straight down such as from the ceiling or at a 90' angle, which is what we did. They are easy to use, the wand/handle is great for raising or lowering and the tie downs deflect light wind and rain. I can't say how they would fair in a really bad storm, we won't take that chance and will roll them up, as suggested. We have had them for a few months and they are terrific. They provide the privacy we were searching for from the street view and block the afternoon/early evening full sun from the back of our porch. They were very reasonably priced at Home Depot (compared to some other stores) and they had a great selection. Our expectations were exceeded and we will be purchasing more for the house. Don't think anymore, just get them!
