Yes, it is quite common to use coroplast for diy C&C cages built for small critters such as guinea pigs, hedgehogs, rabbits. Do a search for C&C cages & you will find instructions on making the box. I use a tool meant for screen door repairs (it's a roller) to make the angle in the coroplast for the sides.
