Product Details

Bromeliads are bold, stylish houseplants that work especially well in contemporary, modern and tropical decor styles. Bromeliads have colorful, long-lasting blooms (which last for weeks) that contrast beautifully against the strappy green leaves. You'll typically see them flower in shades of pink, red, orange and yellow.
  • Indoors, most bromeliads grow best in medium or bright light
  • Water most bromeliads enough to keep them moist, but never wet or saturated
  • Shipping height of bromeliad measures 18 in. to 24 in. tall from the pot bottom to the top of the plant
  • Outdoors, bromeliad care depends on the type, some can handle full sun and others prefer shade.
  • Hand picked by grower directly from farm

Answer This Question

A:  I water when it gets dry weekly

by|May 17, 2021

A:  Hi Gina! We recommend watering this plant about once a week with half a cup of water. We hope this helps!

    by|Mar 3, 2020

A:  This should be watered once a week.

      by|Feb 20, 2020

A:  I water mine once a week. It is still in the small pot it was shipped in so I only give it about a half cup. Mine is also inside.

        by|Jun 2, 2020

A:  enough to keep it moist but not saturated, the brochure says it is also drought tolerant, if you forget to water it!

Q:What happens after the bloom has died off? When will it bloom again?

        Answer This Question

A:  Hi! After the main flower on bromeliads begins to fade, The mother plant will begin to decline. But you'll see baby bromeliads (called pups) developing around the base. Grow these out and enjoy more bromeliads!

A:  When the main flower of the plant begins to decline, small baby bromeliads begin to sprout from the base of the main plant. These will grow out, forming more bromeliads. These baby bromeliads are known as “pups.” Each variety is a little different but when the pups reach about 1/3 the size of the main plant they can be separated and repotted. It may take a number of years but with care, these will eventually flower.

            Beautiful bromeliad
I just received this beautiful bromeliad just a few days after ordering online. It was carefully packaged and quite healthy looking. I've had great luck with HD ordering plants online for delivery.

This plant arrived in excellent shape, minus a broken leaf or two. The color is just the color I was hoping for. A very healthy looking plant to have been shipped. Came in the pot pictured, also.

We wanted a nice little plant to brighten up things here and so we requested this one. I feel that we must have gotten the runt of the litter in this instance. You can see from the pictures how bedraggled it looked . There were phone numbers and web addresses on a sheet with the plant of who to contact when things were not right. I have used them with no results so far. The plant has recovered somewhat but the pot is cracked.

This Costa Farms Bromeliad plant is robust and substantial with a beautiful magenta colored main flower. It ships in an attractive, neutral-shaded, light tan brushed ceramic pot that is ready to be placed directly into the home setting. The bromeliad has dark emerald green leaves extending 28 inches from side to side. It stands approximately 25 inches from the base of the pot to crown of the main flower. This is a fairly low maintenance houseplant that is drought-tolerant. It will certainly lend a lovely tropical point of interest to any room. There are directions for care included.

Wow, this is a nice looking plant, vigorous and growing, it has long leaves and the bloom is outstanding with deep maroons and other dark maroon enhanced colors. Had it about a week and it is really doing well and now that is has been out of the shipping package for a while the leaves are spreading out and it is thriving in a sunny window, when it is warmer outdoors we will put this on the patio to enjoy and so it gets light for longer periods of time during the day.

This is a very attractive plant, it came well packaged with no damage done to the plant it comes in an attractive pot. It is an exotic plant and can bring a touch of the tropics in your home. It is low maintenance and easy to grow, only watering when soil is dry. It makes a lovely addition to my collection of plants that I have with a grow light to give it natural lighting.

The wife wanted some potted plants around the house. She likes the weird and unusual so I thought this Costa Farms Bromeliad Plant Grower's Choice Colors in 6 in. Decor Pot would be nice. She does like it. The center is vibrantly colored and the leave extend about an 8 in radius. The plant is about 12 in high. The pot is simple and neutral in color about 6 in diameter and roughly 6in high. It didn't appear to have a drain hole in the bottom. Turns out though she wants more but without the pot so we can plant them in the landscaping in front of the house.

It's wonderful in winter to get a blooming plant and this lovely bromeliad came sporting a pretty dark pink flower. The flowers can stay blooming for months, but eventually they fade and die. This doesn’t mean the plant is dying; it just means the plant is focusing energy on the leaves and roots. Like orchids, bromelaids take some care to get them blooming again. Once the flower is spent, you should remove it so the plant can spend its energy on forming pups. It comes with it's own decorative pot so there's no need to change it for the moment. They are rain forest plants so full sun will burn them.
