Beautiful bromeliad
I just received this beautiful bromeliad just a few days after ordering online. It was carefully packaged and quite healthy looking. I've had great luck with HD ordering plants online for delivery.

We wanted a nice little plant to brighten up things here and so we requested this one. I feel that we must have gotten the runt of the litter in this instance. You can see from the pictures how bedraggled it looked . There were phone numbers and web addresses on a sheet with the plant of who to contact when things were not right. I have used them with no results so far. The plant has recovered somewhat but the pot is cracked.

Wow, this is a nice looking plant, vigorous and growing, it has long leaves and the bloom is outstanding with deep maroons and other dark maroon enhanced colors. Had it about a week and it is really doing well and now that is has been out of the shipping package for a while the leaves are spreading out and it is thriving in a sunny window, when it is warmer outdoors we will put this on the patio to enjoy and so it gets light for longer periods of time during the day.

This is a very attractive plant, it came well packaged with no damage done to the plant it comes in an attractive pot. It is an exotic plant and can bring a touch of the tropics in your home. It is low maintenance and easy to grow, only watering when soil is dry. It makes a lovely addition to my collection of plants that I have with a grow light to give it natural lighting.

It's wonderful in winter to get a blooming plant and this lovely bromeliad came sporting a pretty dark pink flower. The flowers can stay blooming for months, but eventually they fade and die. This doesn’t mean the plant is dying; it just means the plant is focusing energy on the leaves and roots. Like orchids, bromelaids take some care to get them blooming again. Once the flower is spent, you should remove it so the plant can spend its energy on forming pups.
It comes with it's own decorative pot so there's no need to change it for the moment.
They are rain forest plants so full sun will burn them.

What a lovely experience- my first ordering plants for home delivery. Very impressed by the quality and care in packaging. The box came with a cheeky sticker that said, “TAKE ME OUT OF MY BOX (it’s dark in here)” and “Don’t pull me out by my leaves (Ouch!). It also gave an email address and phone number for Customer Service to assist with any damage or ‘rough ride’ issues (see photo).
The Bromeliad, one of my favorite indoor plants (no mess!) comes in a gardener pot that fits snuggly inside a handsome white ceramic vase with felt-pads on the bottom (no drain hole- no risk to wood table tops). The vase measures about 4-1/2” diameter, 4-1/2” tall, the plant spans about 19” across and stands 12” high (from table top). Healthy, lush, full, and blooming bright red, Spanish moss is added to complete a beautiful presentation! Enclosed was a “Thank You” pamphlet from Costa Farms (FL) and an insert describing basic care of bromeliads, including what to do when it has “pups”.

The Bromeliad plant was delivered while were not home during frigid temperatures but fortunately the plant looked nice and healthy right out of the box. The stylish 4" vase compliments the flower. The plant was a little on the short side (10") and the yellowish orange bloom is somewhat overtaken by the leaves. However, I look forward to more bromeliads once the main flower begins to fade.
