A: Hi janet, We would love to learn more about it and how we can help improve your experience at questions@costafarms.com.
A: Hi JustCurious! A tropical tree, Norfolk Island pine (Araucaria heterophylla) doesn’t like frosty weather, and can’t be grown outdoors in USDA Hardiness Zone 9 or colder. We hope this helps!
A: It's a tropical plant that doesn't tolerate temperatures below 35F. You'll want to be in USDA hardiness zones 10, 11 or higher. I think that's most (bot not all) of Hawaii, maybe a couple small portions of southern Florida and California and all of Puerto Rico when it comes to the USA.
A: "Must not go below 45 degrees" is part of the care instructions.
A: Norfolk island Pines are native to Hawaii so i would think that a tropical climate such as that or Florida would be needed
A: "Must not go below 45 degrees" is part of the care instructions. They come from tropical Hawaii. I think they'd do fine in a southern location, and they can grow to 100 feet, say the instructions.
A: Hi PMM! A tropical tree, Norfolk Island pine (Araucaria heterophylla) doesn’t like frosty weather, and can’t be grown outdoors in USDA Hardiness Zone 9 or colder. If in a colder zone, you can place them outside in a potted container and bring them in for winter. We hope this helps!
A: I looked for the same info and what I found is that it's a tropical plant that doesn't tolerate temperatures below 35F so you'll need to be in a warm climate to do so. If you are in a warm climate don't just set it out in the sun directly from indoors. Slowly acclimate it to the sun by giving it a a little bit of sun each day for a few days.
A: Yes. You may want to grow inside at let it become more established depending on what area of the country you live. They should grow well indoors until you think They are ready
