If I get the 11.61in. bracket will a 12in. Wood plank fit on it? Or do I have to cut off 1/2 an inch from the width the whole length of the shelf?
The bracket is designed to hold 12 in. dimensional lumber (1x12 or 2x12 from the lumber aisle). These boards actually measure 11.25 in wide. If your 12 in. plank is actually 12 in. wide then you'd need to cut 0.75. off of it to fit.
What is the weight
These brackets will hold up to 225 lbs. when properly installed.
I purchased 2 holders to create a shelf to hold a microwave and it’s tilting. Anyone experience this? They are screwed directly into the stud. The board is 1-1/2” thick and 36” long.
These brackets can still flex or bend under heavy forward-leaning weight like a microwave, especially since they don’t have a triangular support brace. How the brackets are spaced, how many are used, and how the load is distributed can all affect stability.

Can this bracket be mounted on the wall upside down from the way it is pictured?
Yes it's totally fine to flip this bracket upside down. Just keep in mind the lip.
Do these come with screws? If not, what screws pair well with the gold bracket?
These do not come with screws. We recommend brass finish wood screws from the hardware department.
How thick is the steel?
The steel is 6mm thick (just slightly less than 1/4").
If I was to cut the lip would it affect it in any way or for form you said it can bear a load of up to 225lbs when mounted properly I was thinking of adding a much winder shelf
You could cut the lip off and it wouldn't affect the weight limit too much if at all. We also sell brackets without lips called our "L brackets" that allow you to use a wider shelf.
