A: I found that the Cree bulbs tended to burn out quickly. I don’t think their heat dissipation is sufficient for any type of enclosed or partially enclosed luminaire.
A: I have not tried it in that type of fixture. It will depend on the design of the motion control circuit more than the bulb. Most new motion control units will work with LED bulbs, but older units may not. As LED bulbs go, thsi is one of the best I have found. long life, and tolerate high temperatures better than most LED bulbs.
A: Yes. I use mine in my outdoor light on my front porch.
A: I wouldn’t use these for permanent outdoor lighting. I would buy bulbs specifically designed and marketed for outdoor use
A: R9 is specifically - Red- in the measured Led light spectrum--R1 thru R13 ( Flesh color ). Many Led bulbs measure only 1 thru 8, then average this for their Color Index rating. Cree produces and rates all the colors with a good balance--that is why they're so warm and relaxing compared to others, and render colors so accurately at 90 + CRI.
A: According to the Energy Star website, the R9 for this bulb is 63.
