I did not have a buzz, and the brightness was nice, but one died in 6 months. Not happy about that either.

LEDs are best because they are tolerant of low temperatures and are the most efficient and long lasting. This device will work well, though you don't need a dimmable device (usually slightly more expensive than non-dimmable devices) for post lights. Having said that, you don't usually need 60W either, so if you do use this device and replace your wall switch with a dimmer, you can set the intensity just how you want it :-)
These are more efficient than many earlier generation LED lamps, and with better electronics they dim properly to a lower intensity. The problem is actually in your motion sensor, which is probably of the old technology that is not compatible with LEDS. I had a similar problem in my garage, and replaced the motion sensor with a new LED-compatible model.
mine are in enclosed ceiling light work well the globe not as hot as before
