Product Overview

The Cree 60-Watt Equivalent Dimmable LED Light Bulb looks and functions like a regular light bulb but offers substantial energy savings. It works just like you would expect—it lights instantly, is dimmable without buzzing and emits a warm, omni-directional light using just a fraction of the energy of a traditional incandescent while lasting about 25 times longer. The bulb is now constructed from durable, shatter-proof plastic and weighs less than 2 oz. Its affordable design pays for itself quickly and will continue paying you for years, replacing expensive external heat dissipation with next-generation 4Flow Filament Design using cross-flow ventilation to cool the LED. This creates a highly durable, lightweight and long-lasting bulb with a compact, all-around light source that looks and lights just like an incandescent bulb.

Good dining room light, dims well
This was one of the models recommended for the dimmer I'd installed. No complaints, but when the bulb is suspended upside down you can see the small vents in the top of the bulb. A purist might prefer another style bulb in this case.

Excellent light bulb
These bulbs throw off a lot of light. Very impressive. The bulb itself is plastic - which is cool when you think about it. Literally cool. They simply don't heat up. If you drop one it will not shatter (not that I'm going to try). One of my bulbs did flicker and would not stay on. Of course, the Home Depot gave me a replacement off the shelf. I love these. And while I was there I got some of the non-dimmable bulbs at two for $4.98. Man, how prices have dropped.

Best LED bulb on the market
The very best LED bulb I have found. Have bought a number of brands and this one mimics an incandescent light bulb the best. I also love that it looks very similar to a traditional light bulb. I don't try and hide this bulb in the corners of the house but use it proudly in my kitchen in plain sight. Once the price comes down, this spells the end for compact fluorescent bulbs.

Excellent Replacement For Incandescents
The light given off by these bulbs is very close to what you would be used to with a soft white incandescent bulb. The size is also comparable. They are still pretty expensive compared to regular bulbs, which is why I rated them a 4 for value, but the price is coming down from when they originally came out. That's common for any new technology. Buying them as a 6 pack saves you 50 cents a bulb.

    4Flow Design for indoors only
I've used many of the previous Design Cree bulbs outdoors inside lighting fixtures. They work great! Instant full brightness even on the coldest day. The 4Flow bulbs would probably give the same performance, but I'm not going to use them outdoors because with the vent holes they will collect bugs inside them!

      Didn't stay lit!!!
I didn't save my receipt because I believed the guarantee. I'll never do that again. The light bulb only lasted a month or maybe a month and a half. Never again!!!

If you buy these, keep your receipt. I bought a multipack just over a year ago and the last one just went out today. Hude waste of my money.
I bought a multipack of these bulbs and just over a year later they have all stopped working. Considering the increased price for these LED bulb, I expected many more years of service. I can understand the occasional bulb failing, but not all. KEEP YOUR RECEIPT!!

          keeps tripping AFCI breaker
I started using this bulb about a month ago because it got great reviews and has great numbers. However, it has frequently tripped my AFCI breaker so I can no longer use it. It is not well advertised that this can happen.

            Some Flaws
Not sure why Cree decided to have the top of the bulb open with vents, but if you have a flush mount light, those shadows appear very vividly and are seen as shadows on the glass bowl. Just looks bad as your eyes go right to those shadows. Also, it only dims to about 40%. With a chandelier that has 9 bulbs that can be issue. Otherwise the color is very similar to incandescent.

Not as good as the non 4 flow
This bulb is fine for enclosed fixtures but is no good for open fixtures as the openings project the opening shapes on surfaces it shines on. Also allows spiders and dirt to get inside the bulb

                Great light output
Have more than twenty of these in use. They work great at full light output in nearly every application and a meter on them proves that they use only the 10, or so, watts each as claimed. Do wish they had full range dimming. They do not dim nearly as low as equivalent incandescent lamps or they would receive five stars. Dimming down to 5%, or less, would be a desirable feature for future products. -Electrical Engineer

                  Good value!
I have a bathroom light fixture above the sink which used to fry my face from the heat of the incandescent bulbs so I always tried to get by with the overhead light which really didn't get the job done. Now, I happily use the light over the sink as the LEDs produce essentially no heat to accompany the excellent light. The bulbs look a bit different, but my wife and I find the difference rather attractive. Your mileage may vary. ;-) The bulbs were sold as a multi-pack, but I was delivered the equivalent number of individually packaged bulbs.

Warm Pleasent light, 120V-11 W gave more output than 100W-130V clear incandecent A+
These Cree BA19-08027OMF-12DE26-3U100 60W Equivalent Soft White (2700K) A19 Dimmable LED Light Bulbs give me new hope for LED bulbs. The warm output color and low heat output should add to the long term payback if they have a good usage life. The pleasant light, 120V-11 W gave more output than the NINE light dining room fixture original 100W-130V clear incandecent bulbs. 900Watt VS 99 Watts !!! They dim nicely. I hope they last as long as they claim... I've been burned by six of the $5.00 Chinese 12V MR16 LED bulbs, they only lasted 2 weeks.

We've been using this bulb a few months now. It lights up as soon as you turn the switch. The light is a pleasant color a and makes the room look good. We are changing or whole house over to these. And best of all they are made in the USA!

Great lightbulb. I have many in my home and they produce less heat than other LED bulbs. The 60W bulbs provide adequate light, but would like to see higher wattage versions.

                    So far so good
My incandescent bulbs buzzed in the fixture these bulbs went into. These LEDs don't buzz at all for me. Light is great and don't heat up the room like the incandescent ones did. They don't dim as low as the incandescent ones did, but if I wanted that low level of light I'd just light some candles. So this doesn't bother me at all. I've only had them a few weeks so I can't speak to longevity, but if they last anywhere near as long as they're supposed to, they're very worth it.

                    Excellent 60W replacement
Added these in living areas including reading desk. The product seems to perform better than the CFL counter part —the CFL's i bought seemed to "flicker" at times. So far, there is no noticable HZ / Frequency problems with the LED. Bulb was on for nearly an hour an i can still put my hand directly on the bulb.

                      Cree Lights Are Terrible
I recently built a house in 2014 in Louisiana and put in 22 Cree LED light bulbs. As of today, 5/1/2015, I have only 4 still working. They have a 25 year guarantee. I am now looking for an alternative manufacturer as these Cree bulbs do not hold up to their warranty.. They flicker, they blink, they go on and off intermittently, they go out faster than regular incandescent bulbs.

                        So far, so awesome!!!
I have now installed 8 of these in various fixtures in my house within the last two weeks.. I initially purchased two as replacements for CFL bulbs...they are instant on and instant brightness. No warm up period at all!. I then purchased the 6 pack which is a great deal. I replaced 6 more CFL's and am extremely pleased with their performance. Uniform light dispersion, instant on, and cool to the touch. Not sure why you wouldn't use these everywhere you can. I certainly will.

                          Efficiency with a buzz
After reading many reviews on several websites online I made the jump and replaced 12 of my old lights with these. The color is great, brightness is good, they look like regular light bulbs and work great in basic fixtures. But they do hum with any fixture using a dimmer. This is contrary to every review I read. No dinner, no hum. The first full month after doing the replacement of all my bulbs my electric bill went down (and has stayed down) about $10 so the value is good. Just expect a bit of a buzz if you go the dimmer route.

I have used "True Color" Cree LEDs before and am very happy. There is no mention of the CRI for these lights. Hopefully it is better than the 80 most brand X less have

                            Great LED Light bulbs
While these are still new, I had good experience with the other design with the heat sink at the base. The problem with those was overheating. However, this newer 4Flow Filament design promises to disperse heat more efficiently than the prior product.
