11 in. Nail Pulling Plier

This nail puller was awesome. We used it to pull up thousand of narrow staples from our floor when we ripped up our old kitchen flooring to install a new one. We tried other tools but this one was the best. It is my favorite tool so far in the kitchen renovation project.

Great product always delivers

This product is much easier to use for removing carpet staples than plain pliers or channel lock pliers which always seem to break the staple and one side is left in the wood causing a hazard if you miss it (ruined sand paper when sanding down to refinish). I used a piece of cardboard to protect the oak floor...yes there was a beautiful oak floor under the carpet! I tried to use it for removing the nail that holds down the tackless strip, but found that a 6" bar did a better job of first loosening the nail and once it was loose to grab the head with this tool. Check the tool before you buy it to make sure the jaw's teeth are aligned right & move straight, one pair at the store was a little loose and did not close straight.

I bought this because I am replacing all the sheetrock in a mobile home. Before buying this I was using electricians' pliers to pull the countless staples used in attaching the trim and wall panels to the walls. Pliers work, but somewhat awkward to use. Staples in the walls about 4" apart and corners proved to be somewhat challenging to get the electrician's pliers into. Stumbled upon these looking for nipper type pliers to try and these simply work great for trim nails and staples! The rounded pivot area gives excellent rolling pivot and pulls out as you push the handles. The serrated jaws have excellent bite and combined with the long handles you have suburb gripping power. These work extremely well on the very small brads with almost no head that a hammer just cannot pull out. If there is about an 1/8" sticking out you can get a bite and pull the fastener out. As you are working straight out from the wall grasping and pulling the fasteners out there is much less fatigue using these than trying to use pliers. The small staples I have pulled with these are too small to use a hammer or small cats paw type puller on because the spacing between the staples is too close to get anything in between them. These however proved the idea tool. I removed sheetrock panels on a 4' wall on both sides and the staples are about 4" apart on every stud, so there were hundreds of them to remove in just 8 total feet of wall. All in all so far I have pulled 1000's of staples and brads with these after removing old sheetrock to replace it and these pliers have made a tedious job much easier and faster. They work much better than any other type of pliers I tried for my project. The occasional regular framing nail I have pulled with them has been no problem either, while not a crowbar these worked on 16 penny nails gripping and pulling them getting another bite lower down and repeating. Personally I think they are perfect for trim nails and staples that typically remain behind when what they are fastening down pulls thru when it is being removed.

Taking brads out of a couple of stairways after removing carpeting was a nightmare before I bought this gadget. A two day job was reduced to two hours! For anyone removing carpet and facing the hundreds of extra long brads to remove this is a must!
