This Crescent wrench is sturdy and well made, as I have come to expect from the company. The twelve inch length is a good compromise for many jobs as it is not too long to fit in moderately cramped spaces, yet still provides good torque. The jaw adjustment is smooth provided that the tool is kept clean and it is easy to set the opening to closely fit the nut. This tool will likely be my go-to wrench for jobs that only need a wrench and save me hauling around a heavy tool box.

I have been a builder and remodeler for 50 years, and as such I have had many occasions where I had to use a adjustable wrench for a variety of jobs. Sometimes I need a bigger wrench, and sometimes a smaller one. This CRESCENT 8 IN. W JAW ADJUSTABLE WRENCH is perfect for a lot of jobs as the jaws open wide, and that is a real plus. I like Crescent tools for their rugged, heavy duty tools, and this one is no exception.

Crescent brand tools are a well-known and trusted brand. This extra wide jaw 8-inch adjustable wrench is an upgrade from the standard adjustable wrench. The extra capacity provides up to a 1 5/16 inch grip, allowing it to perform as a longer wrench. Serrated jaws provide enhanced gripping power over standard jaws. The tool features both SAE and metric laser etched scales to help you set the wrench to the proper size for the fastener. The jaws are moved by a large knurl that is easy to adjust and provides good gripping power. The wrench looks good too – with a black phosphate and lacquer finish. The wrench performs very well, feels good in the hand, provides good gripping power to protect nut edges, and it is easy to adjust. Overall a very versatile tool. Crescent wrench is backed by a lifetime limited warranty.

Stop looking at this and just buy it... it's that good! The Crescent 12" wide jaw adjustable wrench is an awesome addition to the tool box. It does the job if the next size wrench up ( the 12" opens to the 14" and meets the safety rating for larger wrench in smaller form factor.) Meaning you don't have to buy every size saving money. You will carry less weight carrying the smaller wrench that does a bigger job. The weight of the tool is balanced. It feels heavy enough to be solid and trust it won't break, light enough to not feel like you were packing a dumbbell around all day. The jaw opening on mine measures just under 1&3/4". I only used one measuring tape, and it may open to the full stated open once it is used more.

Wow this adjustable wrench is a far cry better than the old one I had. Much tighter tolerances and very little play. Has laser etched sae and metric markings on either side and very sturdy. Quality product made to last. From a cosmetics standpoint the black lawyer inlay adds a professional touch compared to the plain Jane no finish in my old one. A great upgrade for my toolbox.

This Crescent adjustable wrench is the same great quality of all Crescent tools. This adjustable wrench is a bit unique in that it'll accomodate an 1 5/16" bolt head!!! in an 8" wrench! That's great flexibility in a 8" wrench length. It has become my go to wrench in general applications. Its a great tool to have in the toolbox for those times when you need the extra capability of an over 1" wrench. A great tool!

This crescent wrench is 8 inch in length and has adjustable jaws. It’s made of alloy and has a black lacquer finish to help resist rust and corrosion. The wheel to expand and retract the jaws move quite smoothly. I also like that there is a readable measurement guide. This wrench is an addition to my “ lady” toolbox. It’s a fairly heavyweight wrench but seems to fit comfortably in my hand. Very I well made & will last an extremely long time. Very satisfied with this product.

This Crescent 12 in. Wide Jaw Adjustable Wrench is really good to have. The jaws open to 1-3/4 in., very handy for those jobs that require just a bit more! Growing up with my refrigeration mechanic dad, and then working the trade myself from 1970, I’ve used wide-opening adjustable wrenches pretty much my whole life. It was always good to have wrenches that opened to the size of the next size larger wrench. Unfortunately, my favorite ones were made IN the USA by a company that got bought by other companies and those wrenches are no longer available. Anyone who worked the refrigeration/HVAC trade prior to about 1990 would certainly recognize that green handle. My 12 in. wrench disappeared several years ago, so I had to make do without the wide opening jaws until I acquired another one (different brand) awhile back. That one opens to 1-5/8 in. and is quite thick. It works but ----. This new one from Crescent is going to be OK. The jaws are serrated, providing a good grip, more torque, and preventing slippage on the fasteners. The large knurl is easier to adjust and should allow for a tighter fit. Opening sizes, metric and SAE, are etched on both sides of the jaws to give a quick glimpse of the size, but I’ve never known anyone to use a scale to judge the size. (Just turn the knurl until it fits.) The wrench is black phosphate coated and lacquer finished to help resist rust and corrosion. I found the wrench to be quite “sticky” to hold onto, even after cleaning with mineral spirits. I like this wrench, with one exception. At $49.00 it’s a bit pricey, but good tools are worth the cost. I just wish it was thinner in the jaw area. There are many tight places where it would be easier to use.

I have been looking for a wrench that goes the extra distance. No I don't think I would put a huge extension on this wrench for a deeply rusted fused bolt. It covers such a nice range of sizes for bolts that it makes it the go to tool for what I need. Most of the bolts I need on or off are on arbors that normally run with water. Everything is greased when it is put together. I hate to go between buildings to get the right size wrench again and again. But you can see from the images about the size range of the tool.

Crescent is one of those names that has come to describe a paterical tool. For years adjustable wrenches were called Crescent wrenches. Crescent still makes great adjustable wrenches. This wrench in one of them. With the wide jaw, sturdy build, and easily adjustable jaws, it is a great tool to add to your tool box. I love the wide jaws opening on this wrench. It allows me to grab bigger fittings without having to go to a longer wrench. It can really make a difference when working in tight quarters. I tend to use an adjustable wrench in plumbing more then anything else. I like them for tightening up unions, installing and removing pipe plugs. They also work great for screwing in copper to NIP adapters. The advantage of using an adjustable wrench over a pipe wrench is that you don't leave teeth marks in the fitting. I guess this is a minor thing to most people, but it is part of doing quality work for me.
