These pliers have covered a lot of bases with their design. With the large one I was able to remove the top of an anti-siphon valve with room to spare. They will open to over 4 inches and 3 on the smaller ones. The pry bar handles are nice but why not file it down some and make a flat head screwdriver and a Phillips on the other handle? They are a nice set with comfortable handles.

My absolute favorite part of these pliers are the non-marring pipe grips located on the inside of the rubberized handles. I have struggled for years trying not to mar shower heads, faucet aerators and other chrome-plated fasteners. I’d wrap them with a rag only to lose grip and visibility, or try wrapping the jaws with tape. These grips are fantastic for loosening and tightening all plated fasteners! I was even able to grab hold of a very low-profile 3/16”H aerator. The 11/16”L x 1/2"W metal tips of the handles can be used to pry and open paint cans. I would have preferred the tip of the handle that goes into the palm of the hand to be fully wrapped in rubber because my palm presses against the tip of that handle. After all, I don’t need two pry bars, and rubber handles never slip off this type of pliers for me anyway because I don’t use them to pull things like I do with other types. I only use T&G pliers to tighten and loosen fasteners. The jaw’s combination of open diamond shape with larger teeth and straight ends with finer teeth seems to work well. It firmly grips multi-straight-sided fasteners, and can still also grip round and square shapes too. The total jaw length on the 10’ plier is 1 1/4”, and it's 1 9/16" on the 12” one. The teeth are super sharp so grip is excellent. This is a terrific set of pliers that I already treasure. I highly recommend!

These pliers are very well made. They are clearly premium quality from the teeth to the grips. There is very little "play" between the two pieces, if you know what I mean. The mouth of the larger of the two opens very wide - about 2.5". One very cool feature is the grip ends just before the tip of the handles, and the tips are pointed so they can be used to pry things. Simple, but very useful!

I love this brand of tools because they are low cost, so you don't worry so much about messing them up. Don't let the low price fool you though...this set of two (10 in. and 14 in.) tongue and groove pliers are well made from hardened alloy steel. They are hefty and feel sturdy to hold. The grips a comfortable and they have a non-slip surface. They have the "Grip Zone" on the inside of the handles for gripping things like chrome plated pipes without marring them. They have deep jaws with v-shaped teeth for better grip. They are a nice addition to your tool box for doing the rough and tough jobs that other, more expensive tools might sneer at.

This is a nice set of tongue and groove pliers.They are very heavy duty,The teeth are very aggressive and sharp,if your not careful you can easily leave teeth marks on whatever your gripping.The nice thing is they wont slip easily.They are well constructed and easy to grip handles make them comfortable to use even with wet hands.With the black oxide finish they have less chance of rusting.Overall another fine product from Cresent.
