30 in. W x 26 in. H x 5-1/4 in. D Frameless Aluminum Recessed or Surface-Mount Medicine Cabinet with Easy Hang System

Its not a bad medicine cabinet that you can surface mount or recess mount. Here are some things you need to consider for surface mounting, that is what I did: 1. It is heavy, because of its size and the mirrors on it. They are well made mirrors and have very sturdy cabinet bracket on them. So if you can lift like 50 lbs in front of you then you probably can lift and hold like a medicine ball in front of you to mount it on its unique bracket assembly. 2. The instructions booklet are not really that intuitive, and suggest you read it and also follow look at some of the available videos to supplement your understanding of how to install this medicine cabinet. a. For example, if you follow it, it shows how to mount using plastic anchor plugs and then how to mount using toggle bolts. It doesn't tell you to use one or the other method, not both. b. There is a diagram that shows you the piece "T - handle", but no where in the instruction book tells you where to install it. BTW, you have to install these with a small Phillips screwdriver because its recess inside these handles, so the screwdriver has to be small shank or it will not fit thru. 3. Consider, if you have a stud finder device, use it to see if where you are going to mount the medicine cabinet, that you may be lucky enough that it would screw into the stud in the wall. If not, then you would need to either use the plastic plug method or the toggle bolt method. BTW, in my experience the plastic anchor plug method, I wouldn't recommend for wall board. There are newer types of plastic anchor plugs that you can use that will not spin loose on you and better gripping power. I use these instead for the lower two screws. (See the pic of this type of plastic wall anchor). 4. The Hang and Lock Mounting assembly is a really nice way of hanging the cabinet. My only concern is that with the weight of this cabinet from all the glass mirror, its only two screws that holds this mounting assembly to the wall board. In my opinion if you don't screw into the wood stud in the wall, I would not use the wall plastic anchor method, but rather use the toggle bolt method. BTW, it comes with the Toggle bolts and Plastic Wall anchors. 5. Be very careful when you are unpacking the medicine cabinet from the packaging. You will have these white Styrofoam long blocks protecting the cabinet, but it also has your glass shelves in one of them, and the other Styrofoam long block has the side panel mirror in it. So don't just take off the Styrofoam and toss it. That is where they packed it. 6. What is annoying when following the instructions is that once you have the Hang & Lock Bracket assembly installed and firmly screwed in. You have to lift and hang your heavy cabinet on it, so that you can mark off the bottom holes, and then lift it off, so that you can drill the holes for using the plastic wall anchor plugs that are provided. Then you have to lift the cabinet back up again onto the Hang & Lock Bracket assembly again. Essentially you have to lift the medicine cabinet twice when installing it. 7. Installing the side panel mirrors are a bit of a pain too. You have to make sure after you install the bracket (4 of them) of which 2 are on each side, and the spacer pieces too. The slidng in of these side mirror panels you have to do it slowly to make the top and both ends are sliding in equally or it will get stuck. BTW once you install these mirror side panels, you can't grip to lift from here now, you have to grip lift now with one hand on the bottom and one hand on top. 8. Those clear plastic glass shelf bracket are also a bit of pain to install on some. It has to meet in metal channel that has spacing holes, so the clear plastic shelf bracket has a peg end that suppose to push into that hole in the metal channel. Not that easy, suggest you take your time, as well as what I did was just scrap the plastic bracket a bit for a slight chamfer so that it could push and lock into the hole of the metal channel track. See pic. 9. The instruction booklet says once its all mounted and the bottom 2 screw are done, any remaining holes inside the cabinet are to be plugged with these small plastic plugs that they provide. There are 8 of these plastic plugs that are difficult to push into the metal holes. See pic. 10. The inside of the cabinet doors and interior is also reflective, so you can see your self at different angles from the doors. Overall once installed its nice looking and functional.

Beautiful, well made. Door open outwards but inner mirrors still provide 360 deg view for diy hair coloration/cut. We bought 2 of these. One was surface mounted and the other recessed. Great value and great price. Hubby had no problem installing both :)

I am so happy to have purchased this mirror, it is extremely well made and easy to install if you take your time and read all the instructions. It can be wall mounted, but we installed it recessed in the wall. It looks beautiful and has so much mirror space including the inside of the cabinet and the insides of the doors. We bought it sight unseen from the Home Depot website and were pleasantly surprised with the sturdiness and quality workmanship.

Excellent product -- much better than the Kohler equivalent and at the same price. Originally I purchased the Kohler cabinet of the same dimensions but it had a scratch on one of the mirrors. In addition I did not like the unfinished edge for the wall mount. The Croydex cabinet fits flush and generally is a much better design. Now I am very happy to have made the switch.

Just bought this cabinet. Well made, well designed. I would have given it 5 stars except for the fact that it was not easy to install. The directions were not intuitive or well explained. We were hoping the video would have helped, it did not. It took us over 3 hours to install this cabinet. AND- the inner glass shelves were left out of the packaging. So now we have a cabinet but really cannot use it yet. The other reviews led me to believe it would be a simple install ! Misleading, but still a good product.

It is exactly like one we bought from Home Depot in 2008. Our other one broke a hinge which we couldn’t replace. Could we get replacement hinges if this ever happens with this one?

Install was fairly easy and it’s nice to have storage behind a mirror than just a might.

This medicine cabinet is of excellent quality for the price. It came assembled. If I had wanted the doors to open the opposite way, I would have had to unscrew and reposition a bracket - an extra five minutes. It comes with installation hardware that worked well. Because my house is old, the mounting bracket did not align with any studs though it crossed over two. I installed it with the spring anchors, and I drilled two holes through the bracket connectors and drove heavy screws through the studs. That made a solid connection to the wall at the top. It is solidly attached to the wall. The style is pedestrian, but fine for my needs. I am happy I bought this, and I would buy it again.

Very nice medicine cabinet. Hinges are too tight, though. Brackets for shelves are cheaply made (plastic) and don't stay in the holes until the shelves are placed.

Love this medicine cabinet…I made a good choice!!!
