this style rod, doesn't have much for adjustment, it's for a 5ft tub. I had to recess the shower cover into the drywall and bolt to the stud. If you are working with a 60 inch distance it may work, if it's 59 inches, you must recess the drywall. These rods aren't made to be cut down to size
Hi Gerry, The Space saver rod can be cut to size. Thanks, Croydex
No, this unit comes in one piece.
Hello, Unfortunately this product won't fit in a 57 inches space. The minimum space required is 58.5 inches. Thank you, Croydex
You might get 58-1/4", but not less than that without cutting.
Hello, Yes the rod will be permanently attached to the wall.
I do not know if the plastic handle can be purchased separetly. However, I do not find the plastic accessory useful. I just flip he bar with my hand. I discarded the handle.
YES! The knuckle ends tighten in place by a wedge, so you can shorten as needed. An alignment toil is supplied so you can properly align the ends,as you tighten them.
8" plus a little extra for your curtain hangers.
You would be cutting it almost in half so you would lose a lot of the extra room when it swings out.
