Questions & Answers

Does this item actually have the Cub Cadet label on the bags?

Does it have the Cub Cadet logo on any other components?
Asked by: GrassCutter
My bags do not have the logo - would have been a nice add, but does not affect the performance

Does this item actually have the Cub Cadet emblem on the bags and/or other components?

Or is this just some universal bagger made for other models (MTD, Troy)?

yes

bag or mulch?

I'm trying to decide whether to bag leaves this fall or just get the mulcher kit. I've always bagged in the past. 400 bucks seems like a lot for a bunch of plastic parts
Asked by: southridge
I do both. I have the mulch blades on full time. They cut and discharge equally well. In the Fall I mulch first then come back and pick everything up. Taking the chute tube off and reattaching the mulch cover is the only thing time consuming, about 10 min.

Are different blades required and included with the bagger kit?

I have been getting conflicting information whether or not the original blades that were installed (Lift and Cut) are OK to use with this bagging kit.
Asked by: NoviceRZTSUser
No blades are included with the bagger kit. Regarding which blades to use. I have used both the high lift and mulching blades and both worked. I think the high lift blade seem to blow the leaves into the bag better, but it does not chop the leaves up as much. Might depend on your application. I am looking at after-market blades that reportedly work well - Google it!

42 in. and 46 in. Bagger for RZT-S and 46 in. RZT-L Mower is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 69.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice little bagger Haven't had for long but it's seems like a nice little bagger. The bags fill with grass nicely, however quickly. Wish the bags were a little bigger. Setup was pretty simple. Taking it off isn't very difficult. It clogs only if you don't pay attention to how full your bags are getting or you mow to quickly. I try not to mow when it's wet out so not really sure how it'll work there. Probably not very good if the grass is long. One other small thing I can add is that a bit of grass has a tendency to leak outside the bags while mowing. I fixed this minor issue using some air conditioner sealer/insulation. Fits like a glove and works perfectly now. Also felt it was slightly pricey. Everything mentioned I'm still happy with my purchase

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Bagger This bagger does a great job. Heavy duty frame. The bags I thought were a little small until I used them. They stretch and hold quite a bit of lawn. Two thumbs up.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Horrible experience I purchased this bigger at the same time I bought my mower. Putting it together was easy. Home Depot staff delivered and helped put together and install including the mower. After they left it rained and I couldn't mow until a few days later due to rain. When I used the mower, 10 minutes after starting mowing the chute fell apart as it comes in three pieces and is held together by a plastic push in piece that doesn't really work. I put it back together which took about 15 minutes. I continued mowing. Again, within 10-15 minutes the chute fell apart again. This kept going on for the first hour. I finally stopped using nagger for the day as I wanted to finish mowing before it rains. I called the Home Depot and they said they had been told similar problems and the recommended using a couple screws to keep it in place. To make a long story short, this cheap designed chute doesn't work and I am not allowed to return the product. They need to fix the problem and learn to take care of their customers. I have a bagger that I spent over $400 on just sitting in my garage now because it is more problematic to use then it is worth. The grass also gets clogged up right at the bottom where it first comes into the chute. If you don't mind having to stop and take the chute apart to clean the bagger or stop to put bagger chute back together every 15 minutes then get it but you will spend more time off the mower than on the mower if you get this bagger

It took me about an hour to assemble and install. There are a couple points that are not super clear, like how to install the pin the cover pivots on, or maybe I over think stuff. Unit fit well and works as expected - well built from my point of view - and I am an engineer for large heave equipment. If I have a "con" - it's the bags could be larger. Just a small con! Also I suggest you read up on mulching and bagging blades. I bought mainly for leaf pick-up and it would be nice if the leaves were cut up finer so the bags don't fill so fast. There are different blade configurations and some are designed to the clippings finer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Expected better for the cost The overall experience has been okay however it clogs at times when the grass is damp. The lid that covers the two grass bins does attach properly as the bar that holds it in place keeps sliding out of position. It also doesn't fill the bin closest to the tube attachment very well. Overall I need it but wish it operated better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Putting it on and taking it off of the mower... Putting it on and taking it off of the mower is awkward with the two pins on the sides and to the front. It would be easier if it had a spring loaded clip with a pull release in the back/
