Questions & Answers

Will these fit my 2014/2015 XT1 Cub Cadet?

The service manual says the blades are #942-0244A or #942-94092-X
Asked by: RustyTrombone
The part number 942-04244-A is the correct blade for the 46" XT1. You need two blades, not three.

Do you need to remove tte deck and use an impact driver to remove the 5/16-18 flange nut to remove the blades?

I cannot get the flange nut loose to change out the blades. I have an LT46 mower.
Asked by: Nick
When I sharpen my blades, I remove the deck so I can use an impact driver to remove the nut. Use a regular combination wrench to re-install the nut just snug, the torque of the spinning shaft will keep the nut from coming off. I also use a dab of anti-seize compound on the threads to make nut removal at the next blade sharpening easy, and while the deck is off you can get to the grease zerks to lube the spindles.

Will these blades work to replace #'s 742/942-0611 and 742/942-0612?

Asked by: texasman70
These blades will replace the 942-0611A and 942-0612B. I have a Toro LX460 46" deck riding lawn mower that I bought back in 2006. Still running strong - cross my fingers. Took the old blades off and brought up to Home Depot and the guy there was very helpful and even opened the packaging to make sure it matched. Took it home and it installed perfectly. My old lawnmower blades were the original and pretty jacked up. These work perfectly. Word of advice. Pull your deck out. There are a lot of youtube video which will tell you how. Flip the deck over and use a short 2x4 block to brace each blade and work on removing them one at a time. Also use at least a 24" breaker bar as you need a lot of torque to loosen the bolt. When installing the new blades, repeat the process and use a torque wench. I torqued mine to 80 ft lbs. Anyways - if you have a Toro LX460 like me - this blade set will work perfect!!!!

The one star was for the fact that the 46" cub cadet XT1 that I have only uses two blades. This is likely Home Depot's mistake. The cub cadet blades are of very good quality and cut well for a long time. I use my mower commercially and don't need to replace or sharpen the blades very often. While the one star rating was for what I believe to be an error the blades are worthy of a five star rating. Maybe older cub cadets use three blades, I don't know. So in fairness to the actual product I feel the need to change my rating to reflect the quality of the blades and not what I believe to be a mistake that likely has nothing to do with the folks at cub cadet. My apologies to cub cadet. I have been extremely happy with my lawn tractor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for my Toro LX460 - originally bought at Home Depot back in 2006 This blade set is a little expensive - You can get a similiar set on ebay for around $35. That being said. You have the Home Depot guarantee by buying them there. So I went ahead and splurged and glad I did . I have a Toro LX460 10 year old riding lawn mower and this blade set fit perfect. They are made by MTD which also made Toro back when Home Depot was carrying Toro riding lawn mowers. Guess who makes Club Cadet - MTD. I am very happy and now I get a much cleaner cutting lawn. Highly recommend.
