other than the 18hp rather than the 19hp whats the main differences between this and the XT1 Enduro? which would be the better buy?
    ByMar 5, 2015
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

Hello. The exterior design for the XT-1 is different. Also, the XT-1 utilizes a hydrostatic transmission, instead of the gear transmission in the LTX1040. The turning radius on the XT-1 is 16", whereas the LTX1040 has a 12" radius. There are small cosmetic changes with the XT-1 as opposed to the LTX1040. Thank you for your question.

        Answer This Question

Hello. Yes, the mower deck assembly can easily be removed from the tractor. Step by step instructions will be included in the Operators Manual included with the tractor. We're sorry, there no front or rear bucket available for the LTX1040 tractor. The transmission is not designed for a bucket attachment. Thank you for your question.

HOW DO I REPLACE THE BLADES
              ByAug 22, 2014

              Answer This Question

I use a trolley jack under the right side and break the nut loose with a breaker bar and a socket. Make sure you put it back on the star pattern correctly or you'll have problems. When it's almost tight, turn the blade until you feel it nudge into the star. Use a regular ratchet to tighten the nut.

              By|Sep 26, 2014

Hello Pops, You will need to remove the deck from the tractor as explained in the operators manual. Once the deck is removed, you will want to put a piece of wood between the blade and deck housing, to keep the blade from spinning. Once this is done you can remove the blade nut, and replace the blade. Thank you for your question.

                First Brand New Lawn Tractor
This was my first brand new lawn tractor purchase, and so far I am very pleased with the performance handling and turning capabilities. I only gave quality an average rating because I just do not have enough history with the mower yet to know how well it is made and or how durable it is. The automatic transmission is awesome feels just like driving a small vehicle around the yard !! Overall so far it is a great mower and I would recommend the Cub Cadet brand and Home Depot to anyone.

This tractor is powerful, great on fuel!!!!
Great buy, I bought a John Deere at first, used it 2 times and I immedeiately brought it back and bought my Cub Cadet. WOW!!!! what a difference in tractors!!!!! The mower deck on the Cub has 4 wheels and maintains a smooth, level cut in uneaven areas. Very comfortable to ride. My daughter came home from Military leave and hoped right on my new Cub and started using it, I thought she would have just relaxed, but she mowed our lawn!!!

                DONT BUT IT!!
Unless you want to carry around an extra mower deck belt dont buy it. I bought it because my father in law had one for years and it ran great never any problems. Ive had this pile of junk for less than 3 years and have gone through 5 belts. Thats not counting how many times its come off. The directions that come with it and the directions that you can get on line dont show a (fixer) part that was added because im sure of all the problems. There is a metal rod that was stuck on that has a loop on it to TRY and prevent belts from coming off. If you dont run the belt on the correct side of this metal rod it will instantly eat a new belt!!! Also the metal tabs that are on each drive pully needed to be bent closer to the pully. The only thing that i wouldnt change is the air in the tires!!! Dont waste your money buy a goat!

                Battery and charging are useless
I used to service Cub Cadet 30 years ago. I bought this one on the legend of there past. To add to the insult of a useless battery and charging system there is no recoil. There is not even a recoil you can purchase and install for this model Kohler Engine. As if that wasn't enough you can not jump start this machine because the seat needs to be down covering the battery to start it. So you have to physically stop and charge the battery before you do any work. Then the charging system is almost but not quite powerful enough to charge the battery buy the time the grass bags fill. So you charge cut empty the grass, charge cut empty the grass.

Think! Before you buy this mower
We bought a Cub Cadet mower, it's 4 years old, we paid $1400 for this mower, the transmission is broken. We found out no parts are made to fix the transmission, we have to have a new transmission put in. $350 for the transmission, $150 labor not including shipping. Poor quality. Would never buy another!,

Love it. Wish I can have new model.
Just bought this nice mower end of 2014 and they re did the while model and I want the new one. Haha. Anyways this model is awesome. No complaints and plenty of power. Cuts great. I just wish I can trade it in for the new model. I like the all yellow and love the seat on the redesigned model. Very nice. Both of them.

                    JUNK
Great the first year, and the problems started. Leaks oil, trouble starting, are the little problems. This is the biggest waste of money.

                      LTX1046M 42" Cub cadet.
I purchased this cub cadet on reputation, specs, price, performance. Have read some of the other reviews, can understand how the P.T.O.belt may jump off if you try to engage if the deck to slowly, or@low r.p.m.,s or the deck may be set a bit low.I have 10.5hrs.on my mower and it's 03-01-15 6" snow and I can't wait for some green.
