I bought this blower back in the fall before winter started, and live in southwest Wisconsin. I wanted to give this machine a few good snowfalls before writing a review. My review is based on what I have to clean, I clean 3 driveways, and a few sidewalks, as well as making a path to my shed in the back yard. The driveways are all asphalt and for the most part pretty level with one having a pretty steep incline. I also have mine attached to a Cub Cadent XT1 Enduro. There are some goods, some bads, and one ugly that I encountered. The ugly I found: The ugly thing is there is a bolt under the cap over the shaft of the center auger. There is also a small gap between the auger and the worm box. I managed to find a neighbors dog cable and it got sucked into the auger, the pin sheared as it should, but that gap allowed the object to get sucked in and caused the front auger to separate and push the auger forward completely stripping the bolt head off. I am still able to use it without the bolt since the shear pins keep it in place. I have to get the remnants of the old bolt out so I can get another one in. This happened on my first use of all times for something to happen! The Bads: This thing is very hard to get mounted by yourself. You have to become quite inventive with some of the things. It is manageable, but be ready to be working on it for a few hours. I took about 5 hours to assemble and mount by myself. I did have to get some new lights for the tractor because the headlights on my tractor get covered and it makes it a bit harder to blow snow in the dark (it gets dark around 5-5:30pm and sun up is around 6:45 am) So I either have to clean snow before or after work, I recently ordered some lights to install on the tractor to make cleaning a little easier. Also the chute control is in a precarious place making gassing up a bit awkward, I just bough a funnel and the problem was solved. The Good: This thing is a beast! I have went through 10 inches of fine powdered snow and it threw it a really good distance. Last night we had another 8" of heavy wet snow and this thing cut through it like a hot knife through butter and still threw it far. The engine on the tractor does not bog down at all. The key to success is to learn the limits of both the machine and your tractor. The belts are nice and tight, the adjustments are easy. I love the chute controls, I was thinking that the manual lift lever was going to be miserable and a fight, my 4 year old daughter can pick it up and lower it with absolute ease. It takes the snow completely off the surface of the driveways, when I go onto the grass it still cuts like it was on pavement. After last nights snow the plow came by and put a good 2 foot berm at the end of the driveway, good and solid and very heavy. This snow blower cut through it like it didn't even exist. It is also very heavy, so it does a really good job at keeping itself on the ground and not riding up on the packed snow. The other reviews about being bad in heavy snow got debunked fast when I figured out my speeds and intake and output rates. Last thing on this part is the assembly is made so fool proof its unreal, all of the steps of assembly came packaged individually. It was AMAZING looking at the instructions and seeing the bag of hardware listed with the corresponding step. Simply amazing! Recommendations to buyers: -Buy extra shear pins -Get a decent set of chains -Get the weight kit! I am 150 pounds and I can tell when I forgot to put the weights on. I cannot get up the incline on my neighbors driveway. once the weights are on I have no issues. -Look into some extra lights if you are primarily working in the dark. Plus having a little extra light keeps you visible and helps from getting struck by a motorist. -Learn the capabilities of your tractor and machine! Overall I am very happy with the purchase and would recommend!

This machine works very well on my Cub Cadet XT1 LT46 with the 22HP v-twin. It blows wet heavy snow better than most and dry snow doesn't stand a chance. 50-60 feet distance is not uncommon. I have cleared snow from 4"-18" deep with no issues. I often have to blow to one side of the driveway and then blow it out of the way and the machine moves once blown snow very well, which is often a challenge for other machines. I knock down snow banks, remove the pile left by the city snow plow and have only broken 2 shear pins. It is well built and does a great job. I am not sure why some of these reviewers are complaining about not being able to move wet or heavy snow. Wide open engine throttle and slow down so the machine can work and you will have no problems. My only complaints are: -The chute elevation control does not hold. Heavy conditions will push the chute straight up so I have to hold the handle. Set it too tight and it will not move at all, and too lose and it will not hold. To be fair, my last machine did the same thing. -The bar that holds the chute controls kind of gets in the way of the fuel filler. -I would like an option for a 44" and a 48" blower. The 22-25hp can easily handle it and would clear a path wider than (not as wide as) as the wheel path of the tractor. Tip: Don't even think about not buying tire chains or the rear weight kit. They are essential and you will not be happy with out them.

42” blower
I read alot of reviews here. Most didnt have good things to say. I bought it anyway because the walk behind style i had was a beast. Then i bought the 25h garden tractor. I have to say. I just finished up my first round of blowing for the season. It was a heavy wet snow. Granted it was only 6” it ate right through the snow like a hot knife thru butter. Got to end of the driveway where the banks are from road plows. Slowed up just a bit in speed and it went right through. So far thing this works awesome. I did 2 long driveways no issues at all. Took 1/4 of the time my walk behind would have taken me

Bought blower in October 2105 as part of XT2 mower deal. Installed myself in about 4 hrs. Directions were very straight forward and easy to understand. Have only used it 3 times so far because our MN winter has been wimpy this year but cut through a 2 ft drift no problem and throws snow good as well. Seems well built and heavy duity, built to last.

I purchased the 42" 3 stage blower back in Oct 2015 along with an XT2 lawn tractor. The dealer wanted 500 bucks to install blower on mower and I said I would do myself. Instructions were pretty straight forward but took about 5 hrs. Our winter has been kinda wimpy in MN so have only used a couple times. Once was an 8" storm with some drifts and this thing eats right through the snow no problem. Would definitely recommend.

Just can in from blowing snow. Worm gear dead again, 2 years ago was in the shop all winter. Cub cadet fixed it for free. I just came in today, same problem with gear is dead. It spins with no load, once you put load on it, freezes up. I would suggest looking for another model, this one is known for this problem.

This snowblower does not work well at all in gravel or wet snow, even when the skid plates are all the way up. I either couldn't get the tractor to move in the gravel, or constantly got plugged up with the wet snow. I was hoping to be able to keep my garage area clean for the winter, but already had to have a neighbor clean it it out with his tractor the last snow storm. I have not been impressed so far.
