This has been the most unreliable mower I have ever owned! I just hit 10 hours on it and it has been to the shop 3 times now! I would be better off with a $200 cragslist mower, I would NEVER recommend buy this mower, or any other cub cadet mower for that matter after this experience I wish I could get my money back

Dissatisfied w purchase so far
Once I put together and started riding it. The right axel and wheel came off. The nut came off. it seems who ever put it together stripped the nut and left it loose. I had to go buy a new one and screwed it on. I'm not sure if Home Depot or Cub Cadet installs it. Very dissatisfied after spending $1699 on a premium product. I can't recommend this brand to anyone after an initial poor experience.

Uncrating involved some work. It started immediately...no effort at all. Totally different than my old Ariens. A knob for the throttle...no choke...cruise control...makes cutting grass almost fun. High back seat very comfortable and the tight turns are awesome! No doubt the best riding mower I've ever owned.

Best Tractor in its Class that I Have Owned
First off, kudos to the pick up desk and an employee for helping out with the sale and loading into my rented truck. It was late in the season and options were few, my old tractor needed another round of repair. So I made the purchase. A two acre lot with surrounding woods was a killer for me using a powered walk behind mower, even if I don't mow it all. (I'm 61 y.o. with last year's replacement hips.) The Intellipower intrigued me, and once I've experienced the ease of Hydrostatic transmission, I'll never go back. If unfamiliar, there is no choke, and there are separate forward and reverse pedals. You don't have to stop, depress brake to switch gears. More pedal = more power/speed. Speaking of power, it has more than I imagined. My other comparable horse power mowers stalled out if grass was too tall or trimmings piled up. I drove up the right side of my back hill to mow the top--and that grass/weeds was 2+ feet high!! My son had made progress with a brush cutter on the bottom left of this picture, but I advanced past what he had whacked down 75%. I simply walked the grass to make sure there weren't any sticks, etc., and mowed slowly. And it did it. I'm not going to do that regularly, as once it is cut down I will maintain it that way.

Should have read reviews
Thought this was going to be a great mower, but now it’s just an expensive lawn ornament. Less than 1 hour and the transmission is already broken. Cutting a flat, less than 1/2 acre lawn, and it can’t keep up. Heard a pop, saw some quick white smoke, and found broken pieces underneath. The deck wasn’t even engaged, just driving across the yard to put it away. Now the mower won’t move in either direction unless transmission is disengaged. Returning as soon as possible!

i picked up mower at Home Depot already assembled. They started the mower and loaded it on the trailer. I made sure to ask for the manual which includes an extra key, oil drain tube and an attachment for the hose. The overall Home Depot experience was good. The Cub Cadet XT1 mowing experience has been awesome. My yard is on the small side for a mower this size but I find it very easy to navigate around obstacles. After a couple mowings I purchased the mulcher attachment and very pleased with the results.
