No, you don't need the water filter. I also use purified water for coffee and didn't need the filter unit.
No
Yes. You can get just hot water for a cup of tea, etc. just by not inserting a coffee pod.
Can’t answer in degrees, but I can say that it’s hot enough that you can only “sip” the coffee the first few minutes after it’s made because it’s too hot for a “gulp”. I like my coffee hot and I’m satisfied with the temperature it is when my cup is made.
Yes, you can purchase a separate filter pod to use with your own coffee grounds.
Any of the available filled pods will work. You can also use permanent pods for use with your choice of ground coffee.
I think they made a mistake in the description. The new Cuisinart SS-5 unit I have about 7½ inches wide.
To purchase a reusable k cup for the Cuisinart Single Serve you can contact Cuisinart Consumer Service.
The Cuisinart Single Serve Coffeemaker is compatible with any brand of single cup pod including Keurig K-Cup pods.
The Cuisinart SS-5 Single Serve Coffeemaker does not have an internal holding tank. The unit only brews the amount of coffee you program it to brew. Only the amount of water you choose 6, 8, or 10 ounces is heated up and brewed for you, plus the water tank is removable for easy filling and cleaning.
