A:  It comes with a little container perfectly measured for the waffle mix. I recommend not filling to the very top though. The container does not show oz; but is made for this waffle maker.

    A:  I read through all the material and the entire box and this is all the information on the coating: The plates are cast aluminum and the coating is a special non-stick coating. It looks like the same coating they put on other electrical non-stick items. I think it is teflon but can't say for sure. It is totally non stick and you are encouraged not to use metal utensils as they will scratch the non-stick coating. We have a pair of tongs with non stick coating that we use.

      First of all, this upright style allows me to store it in my cabinet in the kitchen. It makes perfect Belgian waffles, set on #3 every time! I haven't made them from scratch yet, however, I use the Krusteaz Belgian waffle mix and add a teaspoon of vanilla or almond extract and a tablespoon of sugar, and they come out perfect! Since the waffle iron is so easy to use, I normally make more than I need and freeze the rest. This waffle maker is a breakfast game changer! It's easy to clean, too! I absolutely love it!

      Great for plain Belgian waffles.
      This is great at making plain waffles. It takes about 5 minutes to heat up, but it's fast after that to do more than one. The batter pours in from the top, so if you like waffles with added berries a flip style would be a better choice. The plates are fairly snug together when closed, so anything besides can get stuck going in.

      This is a decent appliance that makes thick waffles, but is hard to clean. The problem is that the pour spout is quite difficult to clean (the plastic lip retains batter, which hardens during use and is difficult to get completely clean).
