Customer Reviews

Vertical 18 in. Dia Charcoal Smoker is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 42.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Craftmanship issues out of the box During the parts inspection I noticed one of the brackets wasn't properly bent to achieve a true 90° angle. The thermometer was broken in two pieces. It needs to be replaced. All parts seemed to be accounted for. During a assembly I noticed some of the components were still loose even after being tightened snug. I was able to fix that by adding some washer/lock washers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great smoker this is my second smoker I use lump... Great smoker this is my second smoker I use lump charcoal and I can control the temperature easily. It will burn with lump for 3 to 4 hours without touching it at 225 and 3 hours at 275. If I compared it to the Weber smoky mountain and i think it’s is the same quality.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 18" smoker Hold down clips do not line up properly. Pop loose under pressure.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent quality but did expect more from Cuisart 1. It takes longer than 15 minutes to assemble. 2. You need some type of wrench to tighten screws. 3. Assembly instructions are not clear regarding charcoal parts, for example coal grate and pan. Regarding the pan, the vent cut out leads one to believe that that piece should be turned and exposed to air. 4. The fire ring is flimsy and will deform and likely rust and break before the end of the smokers life. 5. The tabs holding the grates are too long resulting in having to spill the water basing making a mess. 6. The assembly latches are misaligned, do not compress tight, and when carrying the assembly it falls apart. I happened to have had the assembly fall apart over a wood floor and the sharp sided legs gouged the floor. 7. The video is cheesy and more a sales pitch rather than a helpful tool that explains how to load, start coals, adjust temperature. Right now I have no clue how the bottom venting system is supposed to work. Also the video and instruction sheet shows a charcoal starter being used and of course that does not come with the smoker.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from grill arrived undamaged from ups, slight difficulty with the nuts and bolts for legs, hard to get... grill arrived undamaged from ups, slight difficulty with the nuts and bolts for legs, hard to get nut started while holding all parts help is good here. metal is thinner than weber version but only paid 120 as opposed to 300 for weber version. still is built good enough to get a couple of years from it .smoked a pork shoulder on it first time came out well added charcoal and more wood chunks just once during cook time held temp well, thermometer for meat recommended. overall would say buy it if you don't want to spend 300 bucks and don't smoke every weekend good grill for the price point. large enough for shoulder and pork butt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not bad For the price a very nice smoker. Assembly was longer than expected and the latches a little flimsy. The paint did burn off in places but that is to be expected. The temp gauge went south and is stuck at 440 . Hopefully, I can get a new one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just ok Just got this vertical smoker today and assembled it. Cheap hardware, thin main body and the locking latches are super flimsy. Only thing that feels well made is the lid.
Date published: 2019-03-13
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Assembles Easily Although I haven’t used it yet I would comment that it is quite well made and assembled easily.
