Given its description I was under the impression I could use it as a waterproof coating for an inground pool with the intention of overcoating it with a waterproof paint. After parging the walls and bottom of the pool this stuff started developing surface cracks as it dried.

First time with tile DIYer March 2021
I used 6 1/2" Daltile Titanium tiles in my alcove bath. I used aqua defense over cement board. I made small batches, which made all the difference, of the thin set to a paste consistency. 1/4" trowel. 1/8" spacers. Cleans well off of the tile. Sets in 24 hours but I needed to pop out a few tiles and it didn't ruin the cement board. Backbuttered all tiles. It's working out great! But I don't have anything else to compare it to but I'm a fan.

    excellent mortar
This has been may go-to mortar for my recent bathroom renovation to secure cement board and then tile. It came highly endorsed by the manufacturer of the cement board. My only critique would be that it was challenging to mix the entire bag and use up quickly before drying. I learned after the first blunder to mix half the bag at a time to have a better mixed batch and prevent drying. Will use again!

We are not a pros, so we do not have a lot of experience with placing glass tile, however, we have learned a lot, and the FlexBond is only thinset we've found for large format glass tile. My wife and I are putting glass tile in two showers, over a waterproof membrane, which has the potential to create a lot of issues for modified thinset. We began by troweling on a smooth layer, covering all of the walls with the Flexbond and letting that dry. Then smoothing any rough spots we made with the trowel. We did not sand it, but smoothed the rough spots by scraping with a putty knife. Then we had a porous surface to which the glass could be adhered. we used a v notch trowel (recommended by the tile manufacturer) to apply the FlexBond over the dried FlexBond surface. We combed it straight vertically, one course at a time. We also back buttered the glass tiles with FlexBond so we achieved 100% coverage on our tiles. This worked very well. We have placed as many as 10 courses without stopping, and have had no wet weight release or movement issues. We also have tried to remove a dried tile, which would have resulted in destroying the tile and or wall, so we know the bond is very good. After the FlexBond dried (usually the next day) it cleans off of the tile effortlessly. Which is likely why it's hard to find a good thinset for glass tile. The thinset will not stick to the front of the glass tile no matter what, but it will stick to the painted back very well. And it is sanded, but we have had no scratching of the tile when cleaning off the thinset. Cleaning out the grout lines is also quite easy with a linoleum knife. But do this the next day. The longer you wait, the harder it gets. After having done considerable research, and tiling, we believe this is a great product. It has performed very well. Time will tell. If you are placing large format glass tile, don't hesitate to use this product. So far, I have no negative comments, only positive.

If I'm going to work on my house, I like to use the best available products (within reason) so I don't have issues with it in the future. That's why I chose this Fexbond product. It was easy to use on my mosaic tile. What little bit that got on the top of the tiles was easy to clean off, even after it had dried.

This product was easy to mix and use, causing my tile installation to go smoothly. The powder room looks great after the project was completed. I would recommend this product for tile in different areas.

The product worked fine for my application of tile in an entryway and closet. It would be nice to have a mix ratio of water to mortar for the DIYer who isn't mixing the whole bag. (example 2/1, 3/1 what ever it is)

is a material which is very reliable and resistant for any type of semitrailer or bitropiso is a paterial which is a bit expensive but it is worth it pressure I have four years using it on floor bathrooms and showers and I have not had any complaints from my clients On the contrary, I had good recommendations for how good and good my work is.

Used it on wall tile in the powder room. I'm glad I read that there isn't much cost difference between this and nonmodified thinset, which also works fine. But the FlexBond had great working time. Allowed flexibility between how stiff vs. sticky I wanted it. It was really effective for leveling those pesky bows in the wall. Great thinset. My only mistake...I should have used Laticrete grout for immaculate finish, since I was so keen to get the tile set perfectly.

Flexbond (both white and grey) is a great and preferred type of thinset for laying tile in the shower - I have used it in multiple applications. It covers wells, sticks well, but dries very fast, so don't mix too much, and do apply some extra on each tile if it started drying on the wall faster than you wished.

Used this with the 20" tiles in my master bath. Had previous cracks in 2 separate places. It has been approximately 2 mos. since I set the tiles. So far, no cracks! Was easy to work with, definitely went on smoothly. The fact that it has some flex, made it the perfect match for my project.

Easy to work with...even for a rookie.
I ended up using way more than I expected to, presumably because I laid it out thicker than I needed to. My only gripe is when I bought all my materials for my job back in July, there was no mention on the bags that this product was not appropriate for tiles with side > 15". In fact, the product description and picture online still make no mention of that limitation. When I went to HD to purchase additional bags, the bags say it is for 15" or less. I didn't want to change products, so I bought more bags of the Flex Bond. I will be very disappointed if the product fails

I installed some tile on to a cement slab in a sun room. There were some small cracks in the slab. I used this product so it can flex a little in case cracks get a little bigger.

Mortar does NOT bond to tiles
I tried to use this product today to lay porcelain tile in the bathroom. The product sets very quickly & failed to bond to back of tile!! Had to dump 80% of the mortar & pull up the tiles I attempted to set. After 2 hours the tiles were still loose! After I pulled tiles, some had absolutely NO mortar attached ! I would never use this product again! Returning other bag I previously purchased. Attached is a photo of the back of the tiles.

Great choice for my bathroom floor!!
As far as thin sets go, this was by far the better choice for replacing my bathroom tile! My last floor only 10 years old was cracked in places because I'd used economy thin-set & tile. This time I went with a better grade discount tile but liked the performance rating on this thin-set so I spent twice as much getting it, but feel it's going to fix my issues with cracked tiles from coming back! Right now my floor looks fantastic! Hope this one lasts for many years to come!

From a Pro's prespective this is a good product at a fair price. I wish they would make it in recyclable tough plastic bags thus reducing sloppy handling punctures and waste. Product performs well .
