I called the company because after 4 days of cure time it became soft and started to peel when we started taking showers. Bottom line is this type of caulk needs a minimum of 7 days to cure. It’s not like a silicone caulk. It cures by evaporation. The guy I talked to said just like the pro fusion grout it’s extremely important the caulk gets the full dry time. Every day for a few hours I put a heater in the bathroom and closed the door to keep the bathroom at 75 so it would have a better chance at curing properly. If you only have one shower, like us, he said give it 24 hours after caulking before using the shower then for the rest of the time to put plastic up, ceiling to inside the tub, so the walls and caulking do not get wet. Then remove the plastic after each shower so it can breath and dry.
No - Caulk that is not meant for being exposed to water! (beyond... a little bit)
I think it comes in both (might have to order) but it DOES NOT work inside a shower, it just softened and dissolved into a big mess. I used it and had to redo it all with the SILICONE Custom caulk that I got online for 11-12 bucks.
I don't know. Why would you pay almost $8 a tube for this color specific caulk and then paint it? Just buy a tube of the $1.98 HDX white then paint that.
FYI - I used it around the toilet. Looks much better than regular caulk would. Blends nicely. Looks very professional.
This is definately not your solution. it's sticky and never hardens. It would be a complete mess....
There’s a $5 tool you can use to just scrape it out. Directions are on the back of the tool.
I do not recommend it for this purpose. It is not intended for this use.
I don't recommend this "sanded" calk around the toilet. I recommend "unsanded" in areas such as around the baseboard or toilet. NOTE: Some contractors think caulking around the toilet is not advisable. Its believed if the wax seal is compromised and does leak that its caulking will prevent early detection. Caulking is a good way to make it easier to keep that area clean. Just remember if you caulk the toilet to leave at least 1" open behind the toilet to allow for leak detection.
My opinion is yes, use a sealer on top of the grout. the more protection you can give the grout the better.
