Unfortunately people don't mix it correctly and then end up having issues with color OR they have too much mortar between joints and end up with a faded or off color. I've used this in three different areas of my house, the first being over a year old and the newest being just over a week old. All areas are still BLACK and it looks absolute amazing, i also have clean joints and mix is to with they recommend not what i think it should be.
Not effectively.
All depends on tile size and the size of the gap, I cant give you an estimate without details

It is okay, but some area loose and came off, not sure it is because of contractor did not mixed well or what
Just buy a quart of premixed
Yes
No, seal it after it cures
There is a table in the back of the packet to help you depending on your tile size
I would not see why not. Like I said, I actually used this product (in an appropriately mixed way/thickness) and it would fill a 1 inch deep by four or five inch long by 2 inch wide cavity, ON THE VERTICAL. So, if you are working on the horizontal, flat, I do not see why you should actually have a problem.
