No - you should use SANDED grout for tiles with wider or varied grout joint like pebbles. The sanded is stronger and has more body to fill gaps wider than 1/8”.

Does this include Adhesive or should we mix adhesive along with this grout and water?

Asked by Kris September 1, 2020

Answers

It does not. Grout is used to fill joints between tiles, not to adhere the tiles to the substrate. For that you need MASTIC (like paste) or THINSET ADHESIVE (like cement). Grout does not need any additive other than epoxy for certain applications where greater strength is required. Just mix with water and use.

The color does not match the swatch so if that's what you're going off of good luck. Bone is a light Grey, no yellow tones. Newer to grout so it could be my fault, but I expect a color swatch to resemble the color of a product or the product to let me know color could be completely different. Was trying to match the linen color, but their linen grout cam out to look like haystack...

Very easy to mix, had to use much more water than instructed. It also only covered about a 1/3 of what it says. It claims to cover up to 30 sq ft. I know that's under perfect circumstances but I have no idea what those could be. I was able to cover about 12 sq ft of mosaic tile backsplash with 5/32" (4mm) tiles and 1/8" (3mm) spacing.Just remember, buy more than you need because you can always return unopened extra.

First of all I was very disappointed at how little this covered. I could not find coverage edtimates anywhere in the description but I've done quite a few tile jobs, 3 recently, and I know the sanded grout goes a long way so I figured this would work. My area was 5 1/2' x 1 1/2 ft with glass mosaic tiles ranging from 1/2 to 1" wide and 2 to 6" long with 1/8" grout line. One can barely covered half. I had to go out in the middle of grouting and buy another one. It was also horrible to work with, very sticky. I finished another tile job using sanded grout and it was so much nicer to work with. I don't know if it's just this brand or if all unsanded grout is like this. It turned out ok, but I will definitely try another brand next time

Quality control of this grout can leave something to be desired! Also, the recommended quantity of water (2.8 oz) isn't enough, and the "fill line" on the 3 tubs I bought varied. The first tub I managed to do some grouting, but it wasn't enough for the table top I was tiling and the color was "off". The second had to go back as it gave no signs of ever setting! (The quantity of powder seemed to be low and it was also an odd gray color, which should've been my "tell" to immediately take it back. But I figured the powder had settled weirdly... I was wrong.) The third tub was fine, but I used closer to 4 oz of water to get the right texture. On the plus side, I used it well outside of the stated grout line size, with handmade Mexican tile, it did the job. Easy to apply, easy to clean up and reasonably priced. I liked the tub size; very useful for those small jobs just about every other grout manufacturer tends to ignore!
