Quick answer: No This product is a silicone-based grout, not a caulk, so it goes into gaps where you might normally use a conventional cementous grout, but where moisture contact would affect that grout. Think about the gap where a kitchen or bathroom sink joins a stone countertop, or where that countertop meets a hard backsplash. These are places that expect regular water contact in use or during cleaning. Conventional grout would discolor from the moisture, and potentially promote mold or bacteria growth. For your situation, remove the clear silicone completely. Clean and prep the joint as you would any new joint for grouting. Use the siliconized grout to fill the gap between the pieces, and build a small cove only as needed to stabilize the grout. Smaller is better, so just enough cove to present an even appearance.

I would suggest that you go ahead with exactly the same grout that’s there now. Use a grout saw to get back to new untreated grout, then new in the gap. Since you have relatively new grout to bond to, this will give you the best chance of having your repair disappear especially after it’s sealed. The sanded silicone is very close in color but the texture and surface quality are different. Sealer doesn’t stick to the silicone grout, so another mismatch. Your eyes will forever be drawn to that spot, and it will bother you until it’s redone. In my experience. :)

I used this to caulk an expansion gap and it blends in very well with the matching sanded grout. In my application the caulk shrunk significantly making a deeper groove than the adjacent grout, if I were applying again I would be sure to apply it flush to the top of the tile and then let the shrinkage bring the product down to the proper level as opposed to using my finger to make the groove when it is wet. As you can see from my picture the expansion joints remain hidden with this product.

Great alternative to using caulk or grout on my new kitchen counters. Have to let it stand without getting wet to set up, but it's very nice and resembles grout once dried.

I purchased this premixed caulk to fix the edge around a tile floor. The color matched perfectly. It is very easy to install, you only need to clear the access as it is not a thick caulk.

This caulk was very easy to glide over some old caulk between the counter top and wall tiles. It went from a light gray to a charcoal color. The original has held up for 8 yrs and wanted to change the color. We would definitely use this brand for other caulking jobs inside our home.

Massive Shrink as it dried
Difficult to finger spread. It lost much of itself as it dried. Seems I received a dud.

Does not cure.
I used this on Joints from a 1/8" to 1/4". Its been about 2 days. I poked at it with my finger and it caved in like clay. It was like that for all the joints. I'm sure will be a issue during cleaning. I had to peel it all of and just simply grout it. Really disappointed. Save your money and time do not buy.
