Always use White VersaBond
I always use white VersaBond. Why use grey, just to save 1.50. Grey is a lot more clean up. Especially if you have light grout or setting porous stone or Saltillo tile. You can't go wrong with White VersaBond.

I've been using Versabond for years and I'm just a DIY doing things at home.
Just finished a project of tile on a countertop. All I have to do now is the grout and I'm done. I'm attaching a picture of the project.

Not close to being white
This is the same color as or darker than the Hardie Board it was used on. Not close to white. This is the first time ever having a problem. But not having done tile since before 2020 if this is the new standard I’m disappointed.

Good for medium-sized porcelain floor tile.
Used it for 9" porcelain hex tiles on liquid self-leveler for a basement bathroom. So far, so good.

never again
once again Custom and it's product have failed. I've been installing tile for 25 years and can't begin to explain how disappointed I am. I have tiles falling of the wall and this is the second time. I feel like anyone that uses this product is going to have problems.
