Will it be a smooth surface or will it feel grainy?

Asked by: Dede
You can make the surface as smooth as you want. It may take some time though.

What does 4-count mean? Is this one kit or four?

Asked by: Stumpd
One kit. There are three steps - step two has two cans - which makes for four cans of product but only one total kit.

Does the natural white color have sparkle flecks that mimic quartz?

Asked by: Marie
It has clear sparkles, golden sparkles and steely grey. It's beautiful. Does mimic quartz-not granite

Asked by: dyier
Because of the flecks it's not going to be glass smooth. It's a textured surface but subtly. It's not like it's a pain to clean up with a sponge or anything. I thought this would bother me but my husband and I love the subtle texture. The final step seals and adds a satin gloss to it.

Our client was on a tight budget for their kitchen remodel so we agreed to try this product. Our coverage area was just around the maximum square footage so we bought 2 kits. We watched the video online twice and read all the instructions and began the application process. It was quite easy. The counters looked great. Then after 24 hours, I noticed some popping and failure to adhere. The entire thing failed to adhere to the substrate, which is laminate. It peeled off. Since this was our last day on site, we had to scramble to find pre-made counters to install. So, we ended up eating the cost of the product $200, the time to apply it, then the labor to remove the now unusable counters, and the cost of the premade counters plus the labor to install them. Our $200 attempt to save some money ended up costing us over $700 that we will not pass on to our client. We applied this to 3 counters all at the same time. The 2 small sections performed well, but the large counter had the peeling. There was no difference in application technique or sanding prep. There was no difference in boxes. It was just it did not adhere. Just a major product failure. The photo below is just part of the fail.

You really need to make sure you fix all the flaws of the counter top before you apply this. Every seam will show through. I would recommend getting more sand paper and spending more time repairing/sanding before starting to apply. Overall, the application is super easy. Sanding before you apply the final coat is huge. It creates a smooth, streak free surface. I had some issues around the sink after pulling off the tape but repairs are pretty simple to fix that. The final product looks like a fancy stone finish and it's very nice. I would absolutely recommend this for a quick kitchen counter update. It makes a huge difference!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy this! Your result depends on your prep work. Watch the video and do what they say. For prep I sanded with the provided sandpaper and followed the video to the letter. This included using wall spakle to fill in crevices etc. I used this product on a cultured marble two sink vanity. I removed faucets as I was going to replace them. Yes-I used this product on the integral sinks. The manufacturers website says you can. The written instructions say you may use a power sander-I did to sand after each mineral coat. The results are stunning. I will be using this in my other bath and kitchen. I do not think this looks like granite at all. It looks remarkably like quartz. The natural white is a winter white-not brite white.

I used 3 different grits of sand paper to get it as smooth as possible on the stone coat and the top coat. At that point, I thought it was too shiny so I put on 5 thin coats of a satin polyurethane by General Finishes which I hand sanded between each coat lightly with 340 grit paper. I just did not like the orange peel look because it took away from the finished look. For anyone interested I used 100, 120, and 240 grits on the stone coat and 120, 240, and 340 on the top coats with my orbital sander. I am not sure if you can really see the finish but I have inserted pictures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy as they say it is! Easy to apply, looks great, so far, so good. We're only at a week, so durability is hard to tell, but every other claim by the company and every other good thing said by consumers so far has been accurate. Two tips that were life savers for us: 1. Remove the tape in between steps... Two coats of bond, remove tape. Add new tape, two coats of stone, remove tape. Add new tape, protective coats, remove tape. It was easy to remove/replace at each of the points when the product was still slightly pliable (We waited about an hour after each type of coating to remove the tape), you just have to be careful and remove it slowly. 2. Begin sanding at the 4 hour mark of the second coat of stone if you are going to hand sand it. We sanded by hand and did not use an orbital sander because we wanted the surface to be slightly textured, not smooth. We got most done before our arms wore out, then finished the next morning. It was definitely harder to sand at that point. It's really very easy to use. Watch the video, follow the directions and you'll have beautiful resurfaced counters in no time.

The color tended to stay where I first put the roller to the surface. I found myself pushing it around, which the instructions say not to do. I should have put it on thicker. Sanding the stone surface with an electric sander is tricky. I wanted to expose the specks without sanding too much off - not easy. I had to touch up a couple of spots. The clear coat (step 3) is thinner than I anticipated. I should have put on three coats instead of the recommended two. All in all, it looks 100% better than it did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love love love it I've been looking for a counter top solution for 5 years. I've watched countless YouTube videos and researched at least 3 products. I finally chose Daich spreadstone and the product is amazing!!! I love my counter tops I did all of our bathrooms (3) and half of the kitchen with 1 kit and did order a second but had expected to. So far not only do they look amazing they are proving durability. Note if you want a sample of the colors I emailed the company directly and they sent me a sample of every color option! Very impressed
