How do I replace the washer on a leaky faucet

AnswerThank you for inquiring about a Danco product. First, turn off the water at the valve under your sink and then open the line to release any remaining water. Second, unscrew the base of the faucet by turning it to the left. This will expose the brass nut that holds the cartridge in place. You will need channel locks to unscrew this nut. Take a picture of the cartridge and how it sits in the handle body. Use your channel locks to pull the cartridge straight up and out. Take your cartridge to your local hardware store for a perfect match. Place new cartridge in the handle body and refer back to your picture for exact position. Place the nut back over the cartridge and tighten. Don't over tighten, you can test for leaks before you apply the faucet handle back in place.

There are 2 handles in this set. It is easy to install and looks great. It functions well, allowing one with dirty hands to turn the water on without touching the handle with the dirty hands.
Works for a Moticello bath faucet

I spotted this at Home Depot. I wondered if it would fit the Monticello faucet we had.
Sure enough, it worked fine. So rather than replace the whole faucet, I installed these.
They are not an exact replacement but work and look fine. The plastic insert has to be
installed properly to make the handle seat all the way down. The screw is long and takes
awhile to screw in all the way down but I assume that will keep it from loosening up in use.

they look great and were easy to install - except they don't fit right. There is nearly a half inch gap below each handle where the internal parts can be seen because they won't seat properly. this also means that the handles will wobble back and forth when the faucet is turned on and off. Returning them today.
