Very nice bookshelf, it is the perfect combination between classy and industrial, gives a very modern look to the space and it was easy to install.

Had to file the metal down
First, we love the look and utility of this bookcase, and we’re happy with the end result. However see the photo- there was a small piece of metal sticking out in the center, blocking the hole where another pole needs to be inserted. I first tried chipping it out with a hammer and screwdriver, to no avail. I had to file it down in order to complete the assembly. Took an extra 45 minutes. I still recommend the product...hope you won’t have this issue.

The only bad thing was there weren't assembly instructions in the box - if I hadn't printed them out beforehand, we would have had a problem. But it's absolutely fantastic! The friends who helped me put them together and install on the wall were also very impressed with the quality of the shelving.

The feature that stand out the most with this shelving unit is the pipe fitters look of the pipe. The shelves are light weight yet are capable of holding up to 25 lbs each. I have had it about a week. It took about 45 minutes for my best friend and I to set up. Its fairly light weight and easy to carry to the place (my bedroom where it is installed) There are about 60 screws that you must install to put this properly together. The unit is connected to the wall at the top and midway points of the shelf. The lower legs sit securely on the ground for an east installation. It definitely meets my expectations. I plan to use it to display model cars and planes on a few shelves. The rest will be shelving for books I have wanted to have out for a very long time. It looks great and even matches the decor somewhat of my bedroom.

Love the open design instead of having an enclosed bookshelf, it really allows the shelves to look more open and allows the room to feel more spacious. The Design itself it very modern and industrial, the black metal piping really brings it all together. Installation was simple and straight forward but I will give you a few hints to make it significantly easier. You will definitely want to use a power drill as you will have to attach 48 screws to secure the metal fittings to the wood. When building the unit, lay the first (top shelf) layer on the ground, on its long side and attach the L shaped metal pipes that make the top support, make sure the holes on the pipe that go into the wall are flat on the ground. By doing this the top pipes will be properly squared and everything will line up, allowing you to drill in the first set of screws without having to worry everything being level. Once you have attached the first set of metal piping, place the unit upside down on a box/bin allowing the top brackets to dangle in the air, giving you a flat surface to work on (as shown in the picture attached) and work your way up each layer, one at a time. In theory, the unit is height adjustable, if it ends up being too tall for your room, or the purpose you want it to serve, you can just remove a set of metal pipes and a shelf to bring it down to your desired height. Only issue I encountered with the unit was that after the whole system was built, it had a bit of a curvature to it. So our bottom two shelves do not sit flush against the wall, we can push the feet in some towards the wall to remedy this, but since we have hard floors, they slowly slide forward. Would have liked to see some type of rubber pads for the bottom of the unit, and also have the shelves be made out of solid wood instead particle board.

Now that it is assembled, i am pleased with the look of this shelf unit. The black metal piping gives a cool industrial look to the unit, while the shelves, which are not solid wood, but a laminate, do have a realistic, rustic appearance. For assembly, the pieces were all marked and easily identifiable. The needed hardware was included, and all easily identified. The instructions provided were actually two pages of illustrations. As I started to assemble the unit, I found the illustrations easy to follow. Once each pipe component was secured to the next, the piping is then screwed to the shelves. This is where I had an issue with the instructions. First, a Phillips head screwdriver is needed (which the instructions don’t indicate). Second, there are no pilot holes on the shelves for the screws, and it is extremely difficult to screw through the laminate surface. It might be better to mark and drill pilot holes prior to attaching the pipe sections to the shelves. It took about 2 1/2 hours to assemble this unit, and the majority of time was attaching the pipe sections to the shelves. I wish the manufacturer would have pre-drilled pilot holes, or at least provided more written instructions regarding attaching the pipe sections to the shelves.
