    Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for posting your inquiry. As a general rule the use of a power washer on/over a soft/flexible sealant is not recommended, as the force of the water may result in damage to the applied sealant. Should you have any additional questions, or wish to discuss your project in more detail, please feel free to contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477.

          Not good for Concrete repairs
This a very poor quality concrete caulking. It Does Not adhere to concrete cracks or patches. It will come off with water, especially when it rains! There are better options!

            Water still got in
We’ve had massive amounts of rain, so the ground is saturated. I went from a pool to damp seepage but it’s not good enough. I have a drainage ditch outside the wall that does very well. I’m very disappointed with this and how it held up. No water came in during the rain. It was later. I don’t know what to make of it but it’s not what I wanted

Thank you for posting your feedback. We are sorry to see your low star review on DAP Concrete and Mortar Filler and Sealant. As this is a water-based/acrylic-latex formula, the sole drying mechanism is the evaporation of water. Dry time can be significantly impacted by cool or humid application conditions or by thick (deep) applications of the sealant. As is the case with all water-based products, they must be applied to dry surfaces and should be applied when humidity is low to moderate. As indicated on the product package label and supporting product literature: “Do not apply when rain or freezing temperatures are forecasted within 24 hours. Cooler temperatures and higher humidity will slow down dry time. Allow sealant to cure 24 hours before direct exposure to water (longer in cooler and/or humid conditions).” Application outside of these conditions will lead to long dry times and slow performance development. Because you did not provide any details regarding your application, such as bead size, temperature, humidity or any information regarding your application technique, it is difficult to provide you with a more detailed reply or any specific product usage guidance in this format. At your convenience, please contact DAP's Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477 so that we can obtain some additional information regarding your experience. DAP

Of note, the competitive product that you reference is not an acrylic-latex/water-based formula, it is a moisture cured polyurethane chemistry (with vastly different performance characteristics). The comparable DAP formula would be DAP Premium Polyurethane Adhesive Sealant. Poor consistency - would not spread and level well
Very disappointed in this DAP product. The consistency is terrible for spreading into sidewalk crack. It is too thick and will not smooth out well even on 77 degree day like today. It sticks to whatever tool you try to smooth it with and drags the material down the crack in an ugly fashion. A moist finger finally worked best, but still looks terrible. Used to like DAP products but will not buy again, will look for something else that is actually designed to smooth into cracks.

Thank you for posting your feedback. We are sorry to see your low star review on DAP Concrete & Mortar Filler and Selant. This product is designed to be applied in "bead" form, not large format "spreading" (as a repair filler). As indicated on the product package label and supporting product literature: "Joint size should not exceed 1/2" wide x 1/2" deep. If joint depth exceeds 1/2", use backer rod material." The use of this product, for application as described, would not be recommended. Should you have any additional questions or require further assistance, please contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477. DAP

Not working - filled small cracks twice and within a day they crack. Very clean and dry. Temperature 60 at night 70 during the day. Very disappointed.

                  No good for out doors
Washes away in the rain. Used to sail cracks on front steps and it washed away.

It came out of the Tube nice. Filled in the crack nice BUT was hard to spread,,, It became Tacky Real Quick. Put down at Dusk / Night 85* temperature,,, So it could cure overnight. You got to smooth it out Quick if you want it to Look even otherwise it Looks Like a Welding Job Laying down Nickels. I wish their idea of GREY color was more gray,,, it Looked WHITE on my 2-year old driveway ??? And now I have a WHITE CRACK Line very visible.

Thank you for posting your feedback. We are sorry to see your low star review on DAP Concrete and Mortar Filler and Sealant. As with all caulks/sealants, the final appearance is contingent upon your application technique. Tooling or smoothing is required to shape the profile of the applied bead of sealant and to smooth the surface appearance to a cosmetic finish. As indicated on the product package label and supporting product literature: "Fill gap or joint with caulk. If necessary, tool or smooth the bead of caulk with a finishing tool before caulk skins over. Given that there is no industry standard color for "concrete" we attempt to color this item accordingly (light to mid-range tone). If you are dissatisfied with your purchase, the product may be returned to the point of purchase or returned directly to DAP for a refund of your purchase price. Instructions for this process can be found on the product package. . Garbage
I usually rely in Dap for quality caulking, but this stuff is garbage. Used it to caulk my concrete relief cuts 2 - 3 months back. Went down nice, looked great. Now all of a sudden it is peeling out and crumbling apart everywhere. I spent a small fortune on this and it didn't even last 3 months.
