Used this caulk in a bathroom refresh, replacing old yellowed caulk. This caulk was extremely easy to use; applied quickly and seamlessly, dried quickly. Did not require additional tools. Just used index finger to smooth where needed. Definitely recommend.

This is not the best solution for a sealing job but it works okay, easy to squeeze without a gun. 36 Hours waiting time is too much i think.

I use it for crown moldings
I don't use this for kitchen and bath, but use it because of the ease of application and because it says adhesive. I have been using it for crown moldings because is easy to control and I can match it to my paint colors. My thinking was if it was made for kitchen and bath, it would allow more expansion and contraction that wood can go through due to humidity. So for me this works great, but I am not a professional.

NOT HARD TO SQUEEZE LIKE SOME OTHER CAULKS
I've used a number of different caulk products over the years, finding many (if not most) extremely difficult to squeeze out of the tube, even when using a caulk "gun" during application. This DAP Kwik Seal product describes itself as "easy to apply" and it is! I didn't need to use a caulk gun for this one simply because I cut the end of the nozzle off at about the desired width I needed to caulk my master bathroom tub area, and was able to apply it directly by squeezing the tube. I have never been a particularly good "caulker" so I have devised creative ways to get the best result possible considering my lack of skill. I'm attaching some photos in case it helps others. Simply put, I cut a small piece of thick cardboard into a triangle, and then I cut one "point" off the triangle at about the desired amount to achieve the width of caulk line I want. I apply the caulk as evenly as I can, and happily this DAP product made that very easy, and then I run my little piece of triangular cardboard down my caulk line. This removes the excess caulk, leaving a nice even caulk line that only requires a minimum of cleanup to complete the job. It dried in about 3 hours, although the instructions say to wait 24 hours for complete drying. I would definitely recommend this DAP Kwik Seal product because it squeezes out very easily straight from the tube, cleans up with water and a sponge, and gives a bright white seal.

Does not hold up
First time application I waited 24 hours as stated in this advertisement. About 45% of the caulk washed out at first shower. I called DAP and the rep told me that I had to wait 36 hours before using the shower. I waited 42 hours after the I cleaned up the first application and the second caulk application washed out after three showers. I bought both tubes at the same time but I can't read the exp. date. Bad experience, similar to what I had some years ago when I tried this product.

DAP is a very reliable name brand with regard to sealants, and this "carton" provides a great price per tube. Squeeze tubes are great for occasional but frequent use - such as for plumbers (that's what I do). [Caulk-gun cannisters are better/cheaper for everyday users.] Only problem: took quite awhile to receive the order. Several weeks.

Not shower ready in 48 hours as advertised. Did the job twice assuming we got a bad tube. Same result - after a few showers it had lost all adhesive properties and wiping the "dried" caulk with your finger made it all spill out like clumpy paint. Switched to 100% silicone and it worked great.

Thank you for posting your feedback. We're sorry to see your low star review on DAP Kwik Seal. As this is a water-based/acrylic-latex formula, the sole drying mechanism is the evaporation of water. Dry time can be significantly impacted by cool or humid application conditions, moisture in/on the application surface or by thick (deep) applications of the sealant. Application outside of these conditions will lead to long dry times and slow performance development. Because you did not provide any details regarding your application, such as application surfaces, surface preparation, bead size, humidity or any information regarding your application technique, it is difficult to provide you with a more detailed reply or any specific product usage guidance in this format. Based on your commentary, you appear to be replacing/planning to replace the Kwik Seal (an acrylic-latex/water-based formula) with a chemically cured "100% silicone". These products are fundamentally very different in both chemistry as well as performance characteristics. The comparable DAP formula would be DAP SILICONE MAX Premium Kitchen, Bath & Plumbing 100% Silicone Sealant. At your convenience, please contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477 so that we can obtain some additional information from you and so that we can discuss alternate product options. Turns Yellow when dried
wouldn't recommend for kitchen or bath but is okay for trim because it does not stay white, turns yellow when dry. as long as you plan to paint it it would be okay, does't stay white

                Turns Yellow when dry
Gave it a 3 star only because it is good for trim prior to painting. It turns Yellow when dry, okay when painting but looks bad on tub and does not hold up in wet applications

Check the expiration date before you buy
Bought at my local Home Depot and used to caulk my shower two days later. Removed all old caulk and let area dry completely before applying this product. Applied and let sit 24 hours (as directed) before it saw any water. Drying conditions were ideal - 65-70F and humidity in 40% range. Three shower later it was all washing away and falling out of seams. They don't put an "expiration date" stamp on these, but after looking to the internet to decode the date stamp on the top found it expired in October 2020. (Home Depot sold it to me January 2021). Took all this caulking out and started all over with a different brand that actually stamps the expiration date on their tubes.

Thank you for posting your feedback. We're sorry to see your low star review on DAP Kwik Seal . Based on your description indicating that cracking began to appear "Within 10 days this was cracking and pulling away from the tile.", would suggest that there may be some instability (excessive joint movement) in the surfaces that were being filled. At your convenience, please contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477 so that we can obtain some additional information from you about your project and to suggest an alternate (more flexible) product. The tube broke while sealing my shower stall. what a mess! Even worse is it does not dry quickly: water actually washed it off after drying 8 hours. Had to remove and replace with silicone sealant.

HARD TO GET OUT OF TUBE
I only had to caulk a small bathroom vanity top. Cut off tip and had to squeeze with all my might, by hand, and hardly anything came out. So I cut more off the tip. squeezed with all my might by hand and it came out in curls, NOT in a smooth line. Can someone recommend a caulk that comes out smooth????
