Thank you for posting your inquiry. DAP All-Purpose 100% Silicone Adhesive Sealant is not tested or recommended for for this type of "off label" application (as described). Should you have additional questions, please contact DAP's Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477.
Thank you for posting your inquiry. 5 gallon buckets are most commonly made with HDPE (High Density Polyethylene). Due to HDPE’s low surface energy (slick/nonporous properties), this type of plastic is extremely difficult for most products to develop proper adhesion to. Of note: Even when an initial bond appears to be formed, they are not typically considered high strength or permanent (especially when flexing, wide temperature fluctuations and/or moisture exposure occurs). Should you have any further questions or wish to discuss this, please feel free to contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477.
yes it will.
yes it will.
As it the case with all acetoxy silicone formulas (including DAP All-Purpose 100% Silicone Adhesive Sealant "Aquarium Sealant"), they are known to cause corrosion of metals, such as: copper, copper alloys and zinc, as these metals are prone to be impacted by exposure to acid/acid vapor.
It was pretty stinky but worked great for my big aquarium that was sqirting water from 2 sides .
No I haven't but it some pretty tuff stuff . I used it to hold together my 6 sided 35 gallon aquarium that was sqirting from 2 sides.
Once fully cured, DAP All-Purpose 100% Silicone Adhesive Sealant would be considered non-conductive.
I believe the back of the package/card says 48 hours
DAP All-Purpose Adhesive Sealant (Aquarium Silicone) is not recommend for applications wider or deeper than 1/2”, nor has its performance been evaluated under vacuum conditions.
